Re: LANGUAGE REQUIRENT FOR NATURALISATION

Cambridge ESOL is not on the current list either but it was still accepted or BC. Don't worry about it too much, it doesn't matter if the qualification is no longer on the list, as long as it was used for ILR after 28 October 2013, it can be used again for BC. You have even pointed out this in your ...

Re: LANGUAGE REQUIRENT FOR NATURALISATION

As long as the test was used for ILR after 28 October 2013, should be fine to use for BC.

My other half applied using a ESOL Skills for Life Entry 3 certificate awarded by Cambridge (which was used for ILR in 2015) and she had her application approved last month.

Re: Re-demonstrate English Lang Req for Citizenship App?

Hi all I was under the impression that having demonstrated English language proficiency when getting ILR, I wouldn't have to do this again for citizenship! From AN Booklet Pg 14: "If you have already satisfied the requirement to have sufficient knowledge of language and life in the UK for settlemen...

Re: Can you complain about NCS - is it worth it?

can you complain about NCS -- probably pointless, one should simply avoid them because they are incompetent and do more harm than good in all but 100% straightforward cases have a solicitor certify your copies for maybe 20 quid, and apply yourself, if you dont want to shell out for folks like me. Re: ESOL certificate is not valid.

to the OP, you need to to ensure you keep up to date with the rules at the time of application as they do change often. The ESOL test was on the list back in December 2014 but the HO changed the rules regarding English tests on 6 April 2015 but continued to except the old tests (then known as the tr...

Re: UK NARIC or English TEST - FLR (M) Premium Service

My wife has a degree from Pakistan which was approved by UK NArIC in July 16 as level B2. An immigration solicitor (friend) has yesterday advertised to also do an English TEst, so that HO does not complain. Should I get my wife to do the English course as well. Why would HO complain? If your wife a...

Re: Language requirements - UK MSc degree

1. For a UK degree, you do not need to use NARIC. The degree itself is sufficient.

2. Use NCS, they will photocopy your original documents and return them to you.

Re: English Language Requirement for Naturalisation

I'm going to agree with CR001.

The only exeption for an older test not on the current SELT list (even if expired) is for one that was used for ILR applied after 28 October 2013. As this is not the case for the OP, a new test will need to be taken.

I thought I was exempt, being from the USA. I also already sent in my Naric certificate, as I thought it couldnt hurt to show my equivalent education here. Sending the NARIC has cause some inconvenience. On the application form, there are 3 options of meeting the English: 1. Being from a majority o...

Re: Naturalisation - Indian passport is about to expire

I believe there isn't a requirement to have an in date passport to apply for Naturalisation. You can apply with an expired passport.

You passport will still be valid at the time of application so shouldn't be an issue.

Re: Naturalisation application

Thanks noajthan, the reason I asked, was because my solicitors said I needed to wait for 12 months before applying for BC, since my route to ILR wasn't through the spouse route. But as you said the criteria did not specify the ILR route. It doesn't matter what route you obtained ILR. As a spouse of...

Re: Booking appointment for JCAP

Just to add not all NCS are the same so this will depend on the NCS you use. For example, some will send you a passport application form through the post if using JCAP, some expect you to pick up the form from the post office. The NCS I used did not have a online booking facility so had to be done o...

LIUK needs to be submitted even if met for ILR. The application form clearly specifies original LIUK needs to be submitted. For English B1, my other half met the requirement for ILR after 28 October 2013 and was asked to provide the certificate at the NCS even though on application form it was just ...

thanks all. I guess I will just ask my dependent to the B1 exam. Cost wise, there isn't much difference between getting the NARIC letter and taking the B1 exam. Exams saves us the hassle of chasing Uni for transcripts and english language letter. Exactly. Its £150 for the English B1 test. UK NARIC ...
