Yes royal mail ref works for me.
The awaiting a decision update date for me is 21st April.

But if visa runs out the same time as main applicant then does this not make a child overstayer even born in UK?

Now days they are taking anywhere between 8 weeks to 1 year . But again its all depends to case to case how complex issues are there . Too many extra unwanted papers also slow down the process.
