Re: need some help thanks

I wish I could help but my knowledge is not sufficient. I do not think you can apply for a residence permit (is that what you want?) or for a special visa. Only a normal 90 day visa for tourists. But I am not sure! Perhaps other people on this forum know. I hope they will answer. If you want answers...

Re: French Visa Refused Please Help

Thanks so much @donutz for your reply will do just that. He is not working at the moment though. And since we going with the kids too hopefully we get the visa. We have booked the appointment for Tuesday. I was thinking of getting the letter written in French too for brownie points :D good luck, I ...

Re: French Visa Refused Please Help

I cannot find anything on sponsoring either if I look under "tourism > visiting friends". Try asking the embassy, they will deal with the application afterall. Or ask TLS, but these optional external parties do not always know or give the right answers. Infact the TLS site has some mistakes (deliber...

Re: need some help thanks

Since you are deforced and more importantly, your ex is not a EU citizen (had not naturalized but is still on ressidence permit) You cannot apply under directive 2004/38/EC. Perhaps a regular short stay visa for the purpose of visiting family/friends could work. You may have to ask the embassy or an...

Re: French Visa Refused Please Help

You should be able to sponsor/guarantee him but I do not know how the French handle that. There should be some info on the French embassy website (??) , perhaps it's not found under "tourism" but under "visiting friends" , assuming the French use specific pages for specific travel purposes. Your let...

Re: Schengen Visa - Entry to different country

If Chiper is married to a UK national and traveling together to any EU nation then most visa conditions do not even apply: no need for insurance (though I would get one for your own sake!), proof of accomodation, minimum funds etc. He would fall under directive 2004/38 and be entitled to a free visa...

Re: French Visa Refused Please Help

If I am not mistaken the French require 64 euro's per day per person (applicant). Other Schengen members set other minimum amounts. So if you go for say a week he'd need 7*65 euro. If it is cash, on a bankaccount, travelcheck etc. should not matter aslong as the embassy (and external borderguard) be...

Re: Schengen visa delayed, flights missed, what are my right

I can only conclude that for normal "tourism" applications: - a transport reservation is sufficient in most cases. - a confirmed hotel/hostel/accomodation reservation is sufficient. No were does it state that it does need or does not to be paid or that if it has been payed for that it cannot be refu...

Re: Schengen visa delayed, flights missed, what are my right

Indeed when it comes to accomodation it is not very clear: Visa Code, Annex II, supporting documents: 3. for (a) documents relating to accommodation: — confirmation of the booking of an organised trip or any other appropriate document indicating the envisaged travel plans, — in the case of transit: ...

Re: need some help thanks

Indeed, the "SS route" is also known under other names such as the "EU route" , I don't know what term the Spanish use for this. Regardless, you will fall under directive 2004/38/EC, family member of EU/EAA national, see the sticky for more info on this directive. There may be online sources for mor...

Re: Schengen visa delayed, flights missed, what are my right

Most likely none since the EU says you should NOT make definitive bookings for flights, accomodation etc. untill the visa has been granted. It's never a requirement to book flights, hotels etc. though reservations will be requested. People should be able to find a company that provides reservations ...

Re: Belgium Schengen Visa delays

You won't find amything in the visa code 810/2009 or the handbooks found on the EU webpage when it comes to requesting your passport back via either the service provider or embassy itself. But if the passport is at the embassy you could contact them and ask if you could get it back directly. Either ...

Re: Swiss visa for Indian on student visitor visa in UK now

I wouldn't trust VFS when it comes down to supplying anything but the most basic information. Complicated or rate questions are better to be adressed directly to the actual authorities or perhaps even a legal expert since embassies make mistakes too. It's even better to avoid external service provid...

Re: Swiss visa for Indian on student visitor visa in UK now

I think it would be reasonable for them to accept the application and unreasonable to tell you to apply from the country were you have long term residency and it seems to me it would be unreasonable to tell you to return home. 2.8. Can a consulate accept an application from an applicant not residing...

Re: Belgium Schengen Visa delays

I'd contact the embassy and inform them about your situation, with any luck they can give you an answer ASAP. Since documentation was missing according to them the maximum processing time would be 30 calendar days at the most. The standard processing time is 15 days, if docs are missing or a closer ...

Hey Wfreij, I'm not sure how one goes about proving that you are a dependent of your EU familymember (dad). Perhaps there is something in the Schengen visa handbook, which has an entire chapter in EU/EEA applications made under directive 2003/38. You can find the handbook here: http://ec.europa.eu/d...

Re: Travel to Schengen, without visa, for EEA-family members

Indeed John, though it's best to avoid VFS or TLS if possible since all Schengen applicants are not obligated to use their services and entitled to a direct applications via a Schengen embassy as per article 17.5 of regulation 810/2009. Sadly the Spanish are known for not communicating this clearly ...

Re: Getting another Schengen Visa while current one still va

Close enough but not entirely correct (VFS isn't always competent an as they are optional anyway I'd avoid them). Yes you can make a new application even before you used your current visa. That visa will then be revoked and a new one will be issued. Atleast that is the theory, would mot surprise me ...

Indeed it's best to skip VFS or TLS if that is practical for the Schengen visa applicants since they are entirely optional for all applications anyway. Only means further delay and costs so why go there unless it has some benefit to the applicant?

Err, no? Who told you that? Directive 2004/38 is quite clear, as is the EU page on traveling with family members: See previous pages. - if you have a residence card as per 2004/38 (family member of EU/EAA national" should be on it) then you need no visa traveling together. Ask them to 1) process it as EU/EAA spouse asap 2) your visa fee...
