Re: Travel to Schengen, without visa, for EEA-family members

Err, no? Who told you that? Directive 2004/38 is quite clear, as is the EU page on traveling with family members: See previous pages. - if you have a residence card as per 2004/38 (family member of EU/EAA national" should be on it) then you need no visa traveling together. Including a holiday togeth...

Re: Short duration visa issued - What now?

Silly me: if you are the spouse of an EU national and joining or traveling your spouse to any EU country other then that of which your spouse is a citizen of, you are entitled to stay together for up to 3 months for temporary visits (and also for longer stays if you register somewhere to live), as p...

Re: Short duration visa issued - What now?

- I assume it is a multi entry? Then you should be able to stay for the requested number of days on every entry (not 100% sure). Ofcourse you will have to respect the 90-within-past-180 days rule. - You will be able to ask for extension while in Italy and it should be valid for the entire Schengen a...

Re: spouse schengen visa help please!

Contact Solvit and the Spanish embassy (and Spanish ministry) ASAP. Explain your situation and that your application should have been treated as EU/EAA spouse but that by a mistake of VFS it has been processed as a regular application. Ask them to 1) process it as EU/EAA spouse asap 2) your visa fee...

Re: Dual Dutch Citizenship for a US Citizen

Hi, A good place to start would be the IND (Immigration and Naturalization Department): https://ind.nl/EN/individuals/dutch-citizenship You may wish to e-mail them your question. Optionally an immigration expert/lawyer might know. I think your mother will have lost her Dutch citizenship if she has d...

Re: Urgent: Query on Schengen visa

Lol @ passport number. Not sure if there is a very specific article that says "Schengen" means all member states. As fas as I know they simply talk about a common EU visa policy and "member states" , followed by some countries that opted out of all or some rules and further on detailing when and how...

Re: Schengen visa help

Should be straightfoward (though I gave no experience with the Greeks myself) : - apply direcly at the embassy, instructions are on the we site. VFS and TLS are optional for all applicants as per EU Schengen rules. - Apply as family of EU/EAA national, the visa should be free, without hassle and min...

"Etats Schengen". That means it is valid in all Schengen states (including France) untill it expires in november. :) I'll report your post though and ask if the passport number can be removed, I'd be careful with mentioning any unique details such as numbers tied to a specific person or application....

Re: Can french residence card holder visit UK without visa

Which is total b*ll*cks though.. Since all EU/EEA family issued with a residence card under article 10 (SS/EU route people) should be able to travel visa free through the EU. The UK not respecting that equals whipping their behinds with directive 2004/38/EC Freedom of Movement act. Apparantly the UK...

Re: spouse schengen visa help please!

How will the Spaniards know you are doing a EU/EAA family application if no (copy of) your wife's passport is included? Without this they cannot accept your application ad valid unless they are willing to be relaxed about it... Having payed the full fee aswell I would think they will judge your appl...

No worries mate. I detected no arrogance. I know visa's can be a hassle especially if a country had a negative stereotype (people judging an entire country or continent because some scumbags do bad things..) . Re: spouse schengen visa help please!

Registration of a marriage in the EU is not a requirement, you simply need to be married and have the documents to show this. If you would not be eligable for some reason (read: you are not married) you'd need to to pay the full fee but also all documents required for a normal app that you do not ne...

Re: Travel to Schengen, without visa, for EEA-family members

Also note that TLS and VFS are entirely optional for any part of the application process of a Schengen visa (as per article 17.5). Sadly not all embassies make this quite clear (which is a violation aswell...). Getting a fast and free visa should be the prefered way when an EU national and non-EU sp...

It can't be that the British accept German (and Estonian) cards RC's that not need a visa just because their layout and language. The Dutch RC is exactly the same as the German only it's written in NL-EN instead of GER-EN... Must be another silly reason. It's a pity though that they make things so c...

Quick reply (for now, short on time): if she returns to Sweden she and you will still be excersising freedom of movement and you can apply for a Swedish ressidence card that says " family member of an EU/EEA national". See Directive 2004/38/EC and read through the first pages. This is also known as ...

You can chose where you apply, external service providers are entirely optional for Schengen visa applicants.
