Living Separated from husband, visa for children from India

I am posting on behalf my sister, who is currently in UK on tier 2 visa. She is living separated from her husband for over 3 years now, 2 children back in India. Now wanting to bring them over here, does Indian immigration or UK visa require any affidavit from husband as they are not divorced yet.

Re: 7 weeks - originals not returned, and still 'under proce

VFS was terrible, no specific information and completely unhelpful. They give you standard information that is available on the website so completely pointless. In fact reason for delays largely attributed to opaque VFS processes [/color][/i] I agree with you, VFS is an absolute joke! A global comp...

[ quote="satellite"]Hi, My dad became a British citizen in 1968 so his Indian passport wasn't returned to him from the UK home office. The Home Office used to keep the Indian passports that time. Re: Emergency OCI question (India) - Please help

i thought it is the new rule they have introduced for upto 20yrs you have to apply for re-issuance of OCI every time passport is renewed. OCI Travel Advisory – Re-issue of OCI Card (On getting a New Passport) Re-issuance of OCI is mandatory every time passport is renewed up to the age of 20 years, ...

Re: Emergency OCI question (India) - Please help

From my experience just carry the old passport that has the U sticker with you. Have traveled twice without transferring to new passport. It is only a suggestion not a requirement.

Re: 7 weeks - originals not returned, and still 'under proce

At 8 weeks, I called and sent emails to HCI London and CGI Birmingham who very very professional and responsive. No apologies per se but 1. my orig...

Though Indian e-tourist visa for UK nationals is on the cards but looking at past trends it's likely to be annouced in conjuction with Indian PM's UK visit (when? it's anybody's guess!) Re: Entry Visa and NOT Tourist visa for visiting India

I nteresting to know, however, unless one needs to travel urgently to India, I cannot see any benefit in applying for an entry visa. For the cost, OCI is a much better option in the long run unless I am missing something. That is correct. I want to travel in the next 5 weeks and OCI takes anywhere ...

Hi Gem, That's interesting! - Have you used / travelled with the entry visa? Have used it many times in the past - no problems - How long did it take to receive your visa? Less than 10 working days (for me by post) Applying in person will be more faster. - Was the Entry Visa applied for yourself al...

Re: Visa for baby - advice please..

1. No need to submit original passport with OCI application.

2. No time lines for submitting the passport once OCI is ready but the sooner the better. It normally takes 30 - 40 days for OCI from the date of application to arriving at HCI. You can do it once you are back.

Re: OCI - No postal applications?

Is it true that postal applications for OCI are no longer accepted by VFS? One MUST go to the VFS Centre for an appointment? There is no option to apply for OCI by post anymore (since 1st March 2015 when VFS took over!!) You have to personally visit your nearest VFS office with an appointment.
