Tier 2 Ext-n: Passport returned, Police reg. certificate not

Hi, Just got my passport back from Home Office (they changed the procedure by the way, and return passports immediately - in place of just confirming their receipt), but didn't get the Police Registration Certificate. Is it always like that, and I just have to go for a new certificate now to police ...

Re: Tier 2 (G): leave to remain vs leave to enter - terminol

OK, I double checked - if one chooses an option "I have another visa type" and enters manually "Tier 2 (General)", the system alarms that you can't use online form for this kind of visa. So the only option is to choose the "Tier 2 (General) leave to remain", which I did.

Re: Tier 2 (G): leave to remain vs leave to enter - terminol

Simply,"Leave to enter" is granted to applicants under the Immigration rules from outside the UK, by an ECO (Entry Clearance Officer) issuing an entry clearance or by an IO (Immigration Officer) at a port of entry. "Leave to remain" is granted to applicants inside the UK. Thank you! Yes, I understa...

Thank you! So they use "leave to remain" just as a general synonim to "visa", and it doesn't matter whether it was received from outside or inside of UK?

Hi, I am 99.99% sure you don't need to provide the evidence. Section 136 sais that you qualify if: - you have met the English language requirements when given a previous grant of leave I have the same situation, and my new sponsor told me I don't need to prove that again. Tier 2 (G): leave to remain vs leave to enter - terminology

Dear all, while filling the new online-form to extend my Tier 2 General visa (due to switching employer) I noticed that in the field "your current visa type" there is an option "Tier 2 General leave to remain", but no "Tier 2 General leave to enter". If I was only previously granted the Tier 2 G vis...

Re: Urgent: CoS passport number incomplete

I can't believe it. After checking my CoS again, I noticed that in the field of "Place of birth" it is stated "Russian Federation", instead of "USSR".. That is the second typo (although a very light one), and I guess now I have to ask for the new CoS, right?...

Re: Tier 2 G extension - hard copy of CoS to be submitted?

i had this experience last august. The fee is now based on the tenure of the visa requested and hence when you first stand in the queue to verify the fees they find it easier to verify if you have the hard copy of COS. Sometimes the COS system is down which might delay the process and that is proba...

Re: Tier 2 G extension - hard copy of CoS to be submitted?

You don't need to submit as HO will be able to fetch all details using the CoS number, but there is no harm submitting the hard copy. Hope that helps. It will be helpful for you and everyone if you continue asking question on your original post. Thank you for your answer! Yes, I understand that the...

Tier 2 G extension - hard copy of CoS to be submitted?

Dear all, another question - do you usually submit the hard copy of the Certificate of Sponsorship Details when applying? From official records that does not seem to be compulsory, but I found the following point of view: "Although not strictly compulsory, Entry Clearance and Immigration Officers te...

Re: Urgent: CoS passport number incomplete

By changed, it means you can't change the passport number field in CoS. Instead, you can add a note to specify the correct passport number in CoS. Hope that helps. Yes, I understand that. I was only wondering, if instead of adding a note to an existing CoS, due to whatever reason an employer may wi...

I would apply for the visa (post it today), and ask the employer to add a note to the cos notes (you cannot change a cos), and mention how a typo has been made regarding the passport number. May I just ask you one final thing - you said the cos cannot be changed - but may the employer decide to cre...

Re: Tier 2 Extension with dependent(wife)

Oh.. Really?? Are you sure this is not just the "dependant part" of the main application, and one doesn't have to fill a separate form for a dependant? In that case they must have changed that recently, because everywhere it is said that dependants have their separate applications ("It’s best to sen...

Re: Tier 2 (G) changing job after expiration of the current

In my scenario above the month grace period finishes on 31 July but the earliest start date of the visa would be 14 days prior to the work commencement date. Hence within the one month grace period so it in effect stretches the gap between visa expiry as actual work commencement to six weeks. Thank...
