I would suggest to attach the most recent letter (<30 days old) while going for ILR application with all other documents.
Do you foresee any difficulty in getting one?

lovely22, I think the media is providing maily that information that would help them see an increase in their sale of papers/magazines. The new citizenship bill has been passed and there's a clause of Probationary citizenship prior to getting citizenship/PR. Some of the rules have been changed for H...

Thanks for your reply. I am one of those who came on HSMP and currently falls in the category of those completing 4 yr soon. I'll be going for my ILR this month and see what happens. My case is not complicated though only concern is that I initially came to UK in sept-05 only for 1 week and then wen...

I would like establish any potential reasons that might lead to ...

I have read on this forum that the case worker asks for specific documents and there's no specific need to arrange it in folder or staple it. They wud take the documents and not the folder. I wud include P60 in the list as well though have read on this forum again that members took other documents a...

The reply from HO is quite clear- no absence of more than 3months in each year and max 180 days absence is allowed in 5 yrs.
What's difficulty in understanding this?
There are lots of thread in this forum with experience from different members, if you want to look at specific experience.

I think policy (JR) document clearly mentions who can apply for ILR based on 4 yr or 5 yr and on the basis of dates when you received HSMP approval letter. As you received your letter in March, you qualify for ILR after 4 years. Though situation could have been different if you had applied HSMP afte...

Just to add, that though there's no provision of dual citizenship in India, an indian citizen who acquires UK/USA nationality can apply for OCI status (aka dual citizenship in layman language). More information on OCI is available on different threads on this forum.

Thanks chetanojha.

I guess I have posted this request twice on this forum. Anyway, just to clarify that I would need to pay £50 extra for each dependent in ILR application. However, considering all the hassles and possible saving money while applying for BC, option 1 does sound better.
THanks

Thanks f2k. It's clear then that the option 1 is better & thanks for providing the link. As I understand, we would need to make two different applications (one joint for husband/wife, another joint for two children) for naturalisation though am wondering if there's any way children can be included i...

Technically, it seems that it would be a violation of indian passport act. I read somewhere that "it is illegal for a person to possess an Indian passport once he/she has acquired the citizenship of another country. The holder of an Indian passport should, therefore, immediately submit his/her India...

It's in Croydon, HSMP-JR. Started calling at 8.57 (no response), 8.58 (got connected)...after hearing their auto-instructions for about 3 min, was put in general queue (~2min) and then straight to the lady rep. Overall, it took about 12 minutes to secure the appointment.
