You are correct. The requirements you mentioned in your original post only apply for unmarried partner visa applications, NOT for spouse visa applications.

Portugal is a member of the European Union and Portuguese citizens can live and work in the UK for as long as they like. By definition he cannot be an illegal immigrant.

You asked for examples and I stated them. Use the ones that apply to your case. This is one of the (common) criteria where, in absence of adequate evidence, applications for visit visas get refused. regards I guess what I'm trying to get at is what influence will the following factors have in the g...

Well, the only thing she can show is that she is employed. If she had savings, investments, etc then she wouldn't need me to sponsor her trip in the first place.

Tourist visa for my girlfriend to accompany me to the UK

Hi guys I'm a dual British/South African citizen currently living in Cape Town, South Africa. I live with my girlfriend of 18 months who is a South African citizen and I guess you could call us unmarried partners. From the research I've just done on Google, it seems that it should be OK to be in possession of another person's passport as long as you have a letter of authorisation from the owner of the passport, and of course as long as you don't attempt to fraudulently use the passport. To be safe I'll seal t...

Transporting another person's passport across the border

Can anyone tell me the legality of transporting another person's passport? I'm currently in South Africa, and a South African friend of mine in London has asked me if I could bring to London his newly issued South African passport which is currently in South Africa too. He applied for it the last ti...

Why do you need to get it notarised? If the criminal record check is original and stamped and signed by the authority that issued it then that should be fine. Notarisation is only usually necessary if you are making photocopies as it assures that a photocopy is the same as the original document.

Does the six-month idea arise because the UK visa has to be valid for more then six months in total ? (So you couldn't, for example, make use of a standard UK visitor visa for visa-free entry to Switzerland.) Christophe is correct here. The UK visa has to have a total validity of more than 6 months...

1) Report theft to Police and get a reference number

2) Go to your country's embassy and apply for a new passport

3) After receiving new passport apply at Home Office for a new visa to be placed in it.

I've noticed there is nowhere for you to declare past criminal records, so does this mean they don't care in the Schengen area and are only bothered if you show up on an alert in the Schengen Information System? So, by not volunteering the information, because it's not asked for on the application ...

I'm sorry, but you are both wrong. Furthermore you are not currently required to mention any previous deportat...
