Re: If you wish to change your username, please post here

Hi, I was wondering if the username AdInfernos would be available for me.

Also, I see some people have flags in their profile. I have been trying to set a flag of Spain but can't find where to do it.

Many thanks

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

Yes, I know how it feels checking a few times a day. But I had made my mind to do it only a couple times a week in the evening. It's a matter of acknowledging that we have a life and camo spend months just checking whether or application has been successful. On the other hand I think we both have E...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

I had a play around checking for different application reference numbers around my personal number. I noticed that not all logical sequential application reference numbers exist, for example if mine is 11233505 then 11233506 may not exist but 11233507 does exist. Assuming that they are given out mo...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

I'm sure you will be approved, you just got lucky :) Well, hopefully yes. On the other hand, if you read the September thread I have the record of the longest time waiting for both acknowledgement of the application and money going off my account :) Anyway, they say the queries made for a citizensh...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

Hello All. Re: Passport and name change issue

Hello. The starting point is this statement by HMPO: There is no entitlement to a passport and no statutory right to have access to a passport. The decision to issue, withdraw, or refuse a British passport is at the discretion of the Secretary of State for the Home Department (the Home Secretary) un...

Re: HMPO questions Naturalisation Status withdraws passport application

It is now obvious after reading HMPO letter that replying from the UK will be of no use. You may wait to hear from the MP, but it seems that you really need an immigration solicitor.

Re: HMPO questions Naturalisation Status withdraws passport application

The fact that your first passport application was made in India may have added to the confusion. Your admission to the UK was on the basis that you are a UK citizen, so, before any further and more expensive action, I would try my luck with HMO by applying again from the UK.

Re: HMPO questions Naturalisation Status withdraws passport application

I understand that they want you to obtain this: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-for-confirmation-of-british-nationality-status-form-ns However, I also understand that they should be satisfied that you are a British citizen by merely sending them your certificate of naturalisat...

Re: In The United Kingdom, What are the differences Between a Natural-Born Citizen and a Naturalized-Citizen?

Probably the most important difference is that it would be easier for the government to strip naturalised citizens of their citizenship for two reasons: there are some statutory provisions if it has been obtained by fraud or deceit, something that does not usually apply for anyone who is British-bor...

Re: No payment taken or acknowledgement

There you go - it's all going according to plan. =) Thanks for the update and good luck to you too! In my opinion postal applications take longer to be initially dealt with. Probably they have to carry out the checks that in other cases are done by the NCS. Curiously enough I received the acknowled...

You can register him as a British citizen provided your application is successful, your child has a PR document and his mother is at least a permanent resident.

Re: Permanent residency for EU citizen expecting UK baby?

I am a EU-citizen (French) who spent 2008-2015, 7.5years in the UK and I have only been out for the last two years with regular revisits to the UK during this time. I am back permanently now. I'm expecting a child, early next year with my European partner who's been here for as long as me. I'm not ...

Well, at least today I have an update. There is a pending authorisation for £1282 from "Nationality Directorat" on my credit card, so I guess everything is ok at this stage. Hopefully an acknowledgement will follow within the next few days.

Hi fawinds, I was pretty much in the same situation as you (applied via NCS though) - you can check my timeline in the September thread as well. While everyone had received their letters within about 2-5 days, I didn't receive anything for 2 weeks. Turned out that the Royal Mail took 8 days to deli...

No payment taken or acknowledgement

Hello. I sent my application for BC on 19th September and was received by the Home Office on the 20th (proof of delivery at Royal Mail track and trace). So far they have not taken any payment from my credit card. Neither they have sent any acknowledgement email or letter or requested biometrics. The...

Hello Take a look at number 3 here: https://www.gov.uk/english-language Only those specific tests are accepted. I have Cambridge CAE proving level C2, but is not accepted. My wife, with the First Certificate proving a B2 level also has to sit one of those tests. Fortunately I have an UK degree. Nons...
