Re: ILR BRP impounded at Heathrow two and a half years after naturalisation

But, anyway, not all British passports allow for freedom of movement within the EU. What do you mean by that? British passports issued in the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands to British citizens who have no connection with the UK have an observation as follows: The holder is not entitled to bene...

Re: EEA with residente card stopped at airport UK when returning from trip

@LJM17 good luck with your application and hope you get it sort it out soon. Thank you Zapzap. I decided to reapply for PR as I believe the period of my self-employment should arguably be considered genuine and effective as I have worked an average of over 10 hours a week and the work was both long...

Re: ILR BRP impounded at Heathrow two and a half years after naturalisation

Also, remember that as CoE-RoA does not indicate your British citizenship, it does not allow for freedom of movement within the EU. To the best of my knowledge, there is no alternative to a British passport for travel within in the EU. But I could be wrong on this point. But, anyway, not all Britis...

Re: ILR BRP impounded at Heathrow two and a half years after naturalisation

Not entirely true. There are some (a very small number, but they do exist) non-British Commonwealth citizens who have Right of Abode in the UK due to having been resident in the UK before 1983. We know that the OP is not one of them, but I'm just pointing out that RoA does not definitely prove that...

Thanks for reply. When and how do you get your documents back. Do they come separately ?
Documents are sent separately to the approval letter.
Probably there isn't a single rule for that. I received letter and documents together.

I wrote to them last night because haven't heard from them since I received my approval letter on th...

Re: ILR BRP impounded at Heathrow two and a half years after naturalisation

No offence but the "why" is my business and I'm pretty sure on my reasons! It's the "what" that is important for this forum - a need to be able to travel abroad with my non-UK passport without being forced to carry my British passport at the same time. You are right in saying that it is none of our...

Paragraph 60 of the decision states: In view of all the foregoing, the answer to the question is that Directive 2004/38 must be interpreted as meaning that, in a situation in which a Union citizen (i) has exercised his freedom of movement by moving to and residing in a Member State other than that o...

Re: I have Dual Citizenship -Wife non EU . 5 years Visa finishes ...

In my opinion, and I should say I'm not an expert, she should submit her application in December and include a cover letter explaining how the decision in Lounes would apparently cover her situation. Otherwise, if she gets a refusal, the case should have to be taken to the courts for them to decide ...

Re: EU permanent residency application refused!!! please advice! urgent

I have obtained my PR based on self-employment between 2007 and 2012. The documents I sent where printed copies of my self-assessment forms (SA100), one for each relevant year. I didn't have the SA100 for 2011 and 2012 because the pdf files I kept in my computer were corrupted, but made a subject ac...

What did you answer? Anyway, your wife's appli...

Also, because section 4 (good character requirement) is not applicable because she's under 10, I think that instead of sending the pages in blank, I will simply remove them. Same for section 3 which is not applicable to us. Any advice on this? You should send the complete form, even with blank page...

Congratulation!

Are you using the paper form?

If you use the online form at https://www.gov.uk/apply-renew-passport it will only ask for the relevant questions to your case. Anyway, just answer "I don't know" when you don't know the answer.

Your're welcome. Yes, it's an EU application. I applied on 19/09 and was approved on 07/11. 49 days in total, exactly the same number of days it took for my Permanent Residence document.
