Re: Naturalisation while away on holiday

Still holding thumbs for Siraj that you get a decision soon, especially after your MP received the letter :) Have a good holiday and relax, hopefully a little brown envelope on your door mat when you get back. Char I really hope so, thanks for keeping fingers crossed. This has been a journey far to...

Re: Naturalisation while away on holiday

You will only receive an approval letter and then the invitation to the ceremony (sometimes it can be one letter combined). You will have 21 days within which to book the ceremony and you have to attend the ceremony within 90 days. You will only become British (naturalised) once you have attended t...

Naturalisation while away on holiday

Hi all,

What happens if you're away on holiday for two weeks and you're naturalised whist away?

Is there any deadline for example to attend the ceremony within 30 days?

Many thanks,
Siraj

Re: July 2014 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

Hi All, I applied for naturalisation a year ago today (17/07/2014), and I'm still waiting for the Home Office to make a decision, even though my case is pretty straight forward. I continuously contacted the Home Office after the first 6 months passed but was told it could potentially take them anot...

Hi SwissinScotland,

Many are still waiting since May 2014, you are not the only one.

Moderator Edit

Nothing much we can do apart from waiting, with patience of course.

Chill out,

Re: Refused British Citizenship due to being in the UK Illeg

He had work permit but not for the company he was working for . that's why he didn't let home office know. How did he get his 3 years work permit? From the first company where he worked at first? If that is the case, then best to wait until 10 years is over. Because Home Office checks everything no...

Re: Refused citizenship application

Aah! Laws have changed while I was away from the forum! Apologies .....  Indeed, and even those who submitted before the change are caught up on it. Such a shame to what message Britain is sending out to the rest of the immigrants across the world. In the long run, more high skilled immi...

Re: Notify Home Office with New Passport?

I think it would certainly be wise to advise the Home Office of the new passport's details. not only is it erring on the side of caution, I think we are required to notify them of any change and your passport details are a part of the form that you submit (if memory serves me correctly). Thank you,...

Re: refused British application

A verdit of unlawful detention does not mean that a court ruled that your stay in UK was legal. Two totally different things. Once your appeal rights were exhausted, you became illegal. If HO could not remove you, that does not mean your stay in UK becomes legal. A grant under legacy does not make ...

I didn't contact anyone; neither HO or MP ... I don't think it helps.
the best idea to chase them is to ask them to return your documents back.
Most apply through NCS and that wouldn't work..

Re: Unsuccessful applications

ILR can be revoked, it depends from case to case. If leave was granted using deception then it can be revoked as far as I know. Even if someone becomes a British Citizen they can also be deported under new law.

Better to notify NCS the possibility of moving house and request to move the appointment further by couple of weeks.

Absolutely no problemo if you submit biometrics and renew passport afterwards. I've already sent my home country passport for renewal since the Home Office taking eleven months and yet no decision being made.
