Couldn't agree more. Apart from just this painful waiting one can easily claim child benefit and make up for that extra charge for premium service in 6 months. I sincerely hope we get our passport before rules change and price hike.

I hope we are helping others by putting them off for applying this by post. Not many new members are adding on the list which serves the part of the purpose in creating this list. My guess is junior staff process straightforward ones and then stamp and others are sent to (may be) senior case worker thus take time. I just wonder why they take near 6 months ( 262820 minutes) for postal application! and 3 weeks just to post the stamped passport back!
