Re: Eea settlement refused - any help ?

Unfortunately not we broke up last year In this case you cannot bank on this relationship anymore for further leave under the EU Settlement scheme. Your current pre-settled status won't get curtailed, but it cannot be extended after its expiration date. As @secret.simon says, retained right of resi...

Re: both parents hold EU Pre Settlement can they apply for new born baby

me and my wife both have EU Pre Settlement status, and we want to apply visa for our newborn baby. We both are no EU citizen, and we got this status of as British extended family member last year. My first question would be, exactly how did each of you qualify as extended family members? Who is the...

Re: Updating Now-spouses' Settled Status: Denied... Advice

As an example, I contacted them using the above link, Question Category: "The result of my application", and the below wording: I have just received an answer from the EU Resolution Center, regarding my eligibility for Settled status. The answer reads: “The (your) Biometric Residence Card was issued...

Re: Updating Now-spouses' Settled Status: Denied... Advice

I think, at a glance, I understood that I needed to send original passport and/or BRC; and in the thread discussing this process, others seem to be talking about sending their card in, so I think that's how I came to that conclusion. But I'll look again. Unless something has substantially changed s...

Re: Updating Now-spouses' Settled Status: Denied... Advice

1. You don't need to send her current BRP to get the new one. You can just apply for the new one, and if you want, destroy the old one after the new one arrives. But no one is going to invalidate the old one or come after you if you don't destroy it. I was in this situation and for months I had two ...

This was answered long ago. Anything in particular from the below that is not clear? Does she currently have a EUSS BRP? If so, what's the expiration date? 2. If she wants to have a valid biometric card after June 30th to show for her electronic Pre-Settled status, then she needs to apply to convert...

It does say that for most people "the process will be entirely digital", then that eVisas will be issued.
Everyone does get an eVisa, which is all they will need for work purposes. It's just some people also get a BRP for travel purposes.
Yes, not saying otherwise. :)

Re: Are graduate visas exclusively eVisas ?

True, it doesn't actually say no BRP, but it implies it. It does say that for most people "the process will be entirely digital", then that eVisas will be issued. Easily misinterpreted, specially since that's how the EU Settlement Scheme works.

Once again, thanks for clarifying.

Re: Are graduate visas exclusively eVisas ?

For the vast majority of applicants, the process will be entirely digital, and if your application is successful, you will be issued with an eVisa. To be fair, it did not change. It confirms in that same paragraph: If you are a citizen of any [visa national country], you will also be issued with a ...

Re: Are graduate visas exclusively eVisas ?

I'd expect something with share codes would be given, same as right to work/etc, but yea, lots of caveats. Exactly. This is indeed how it appears to work for those on a graduate visa who don't get a BRP, but that is exactly the problem many people have faced on other routes. Airlines don't accept s...

Re: Are graduate visas exclusively eVisas ?

I work with two freshly graduated PhD who recently applied for the graduate visa and they received BRP cards. Thanks, this is insightful. Makes sense that they still issue at least some BRPs, specially for visa nationals. I don't see it working otherwise. In both cases the card is valid until 30/12...

Are graduate visas exclusively eVisas ?

From the documentation I have seen, it seems these are granted as eVisas? Can anyone confirm? If so, how does it work for travel? Can anyone with first hand-experience confirm if: 1. The Graduate visa is exclusively an electronic visa, and nothing physically is stamped/pasted/no BRP card issued in p...

Re: EUSS application for family members

Since the sponsor is currently in France, can he still apply Now for family members to "join him in the UK"? You are getting entangled with the terminology. The physical location of the sponsor at the time of application is irrelevant, what matters is if they are eligible to sponsor their family. S...

Re: Urgently need help after losing sponsorship

Special guardianship orders usually last until the child turns 18.

I believe the first thing you need to do is to confirm if that is still the case, or if, as it might be, you no longer have parental responsibility for him.

Clearly on their wedding date, so July 2019. Assuming that she was already resident in the UK before the wedding of course. 13th one extra day for good measures. It costs you nothing. Agree. To the OP: Also, there really isn't much difference by applying a day later, really. I have seen slight variations of turnaround times, where someone who applied a day later than someone else receives a decision a few days earlier. ...

Not really, no. That line didn't tell us the timeline of their parents wedding date (which we now know is July), or where that took place (which we don't. Was it in the UK or abroad?). We still don't know when the mother arrived in the UK, and on what type of visa/permit.

Also, it doesn't matter if the family members never applied for pre settled status, if they had Pre-settled status and lost it, or if they never resided in the UK. What matters is the status of the sponsor. As long as this is still valid, the sponsor and can bring new, "joining family members" anyti...

Re: Question about residency requirements

The residency will count from the time you became the step-child/family member of the EU citizen. As the EU citizen married your mother in 2019, your residency clock for the purpose of Settled Status will start from the date of marriage of your EU step-father and your mother. Your mother (assuming ...
