Re: Visa requirement to hire EU aupair

I am looking into hiring an EU aupair, as they are just able to fly after July 2021 Just to point out that after Brexit there is no special provision for hiring EU nationals outside of the EU Settlement Scheme (for which anyone who has not already resident in the UK before December 2020 is not elig...

Re: Calling all non-EU with recently exchanged EEA into EUSS cards

My understanding is old residence card are valid until expiry. That is the current position of their ever changing policy. Correct. The conundrum is on the fact that if you applied to replace a EEA card, it is technically made invalid when the new EUSS card is issued. The previous message seems to ...

Re: Calling all non-EU with recently exchanged EEA into EUSS cards

Even i did get an email my Old BRC is cancelled because new one issued i sent that BRC back to HM but still working and it’s even working with my passpor...

French pass sanitaire with UK vaccines?

I know this is a long shot, but has anyone tried to have the French pass sanitaire with UK vaccines, in other words, by showing the NHS app to someone/something? I understand it all boils down to producing a QR code accepted by the TousAntiCovid app, which is straightforward if you were vaccinated i...

Re: change brc issued under eea to eu settlement

It's the wild west if you ask me. Week 15th after biometrics and counting (April 16th). Card expires in 2023, no word from HO or MP.

From what I can tell I could travel with current card, and that's exactly what I'll do. Not sure I have any other choice.

Re: change brc issued under eea to eu settlement

I think it is always wise to wait until a reasonable point had passed before enquiring/escalating to MP. Given people with similar timelines as mine received their card on the 10th and 11th week, I waited until the 12th week after biometrics (If you have not reached these points, it might be too ear...

Re: BRC replacement/update euss process time?

Hi kamoe, can you please update once you receive your BRC? Really anxious with the timeline. My friends who submitted biometrics on the 16th April already got theirs on the 7th of July. And both of them at the same day(one of them the email was sent to spammed so noticed it a tad later)! Obviously ...

Re: Unique situation. Please share your thought

I am pleased to inform you that your application under the EU Settlement Scheme has been successful and that you have been granted Limited Leave in the United Kingdom under Part 1 of Appendix EU to the Immigration Rules. (...) How very odd, they do not explain why they didn't get Settled status. Th...

Re: Unique situation. Please share your thought

To be honest, I am not sure if it is recommended really. Damn it, they have updated all the relevant pages, but I remember quite clearly the wordings saying that having an application number for Irish citizen's applying to the scheme would result in easing their non-EU family members applications. ...

Re: Unique situation. Please share your thought

I am not suggesting it has any legal implications. If you read my post you will appreciate that's not my position. I am merely referring to the irrelevance of an Irish citizen applying for one. Thanks for clarifying. I think both myself and the OP managed to misinterpret what you said. Just to wrap...

Re: Unique situation. Please share your thought

That will be unlawful, as you status is independent of what your partner chooses to apply for. Partner should not have applied for PSS in the first place. Thanks for your kind reply. We thought it will help with my initial application back then. Regretting it now 😌 Can you please share exact wordin...

Why? They are free to apply, and this is recommended to expedite the spouses' application. Why I believe is completely wrong is the issuing of Pre Settled instead of Settled.

Re: Unique situation. Please share your thought

when did the sponsor become an Irish-only citizen? 17/01/2020 Thanks Then you can claim Settled Status on 17/01/2025 not before. You need to have spent 5 years as the spouse of a EEA National, NOT a British national. But I applied as spouse of relevant person of Northern Ireland in which case Briti...

Re: Should i input UK vignette details as visa when booking flight?

You are overthinking this. Just put: Place of issue: UKVI 07 Date of issue: validity start date In all likelihood UKVI 07 is a code for a UKVI post in a foreign country, so just put that since that's what's in the vignette. Usually visas are valid from the date of issue, so just put the validity sta...

Re: EUSS Family Permit Unmarried Partner

How likely would she be in being granted a EUSS family permit for unmarried couples with this evidence? Each application is different, so it's difficult to tell exactly how yours will go. Yours is something that seems to fall in the middle: not a straight refusal, not straightforward either. The di...

Re: BRC replacement/update euss process time?

Hope you get it soon. Thanks. So the processing time is 8 weeks for update/replacement brc? No, we cannot conclude that. The only thing my timeline tells us, is that the processing times can be at least 8 weeks. Does not mean it will be 8 weeks, for me or for anybody. For all we know, I could still...

Re: Expired BRC whilst out of UK - Non-EU

Thank you, I was also wondering and i sent them many emails to double check, and they keep saying he needs to apply for a replacement BRP Are they suing the word "BRP"? Or are they saying "Apply for the EU Settlement Scheme"? Not the same thing. If indeed they are saying he should apply for a biome...

so it seems weird that they are not asking for my expired BRC or my settlement decision letter as evidences ... Why is that weird? They require evidence of the information they cannot already check themselves. I see no issue here. also is there a need to report my BRC as expired to Home office ? sh...

I called home office and I was told he needs to apply for a BRP. They told me BRP and BRC are the same thing. Can someone make it clear for me. BRP = Biometric Residence Permit BRC = Biometric Residence Card Both are a biometric card. Historically BRP was used to refer to what people have in the Ti...

any thoughts?
