I disagree. Robots are intelligent and could do a better job than the untermenschen (under)employed by the HO.

What is the correct way to request your passport back? Can you just mention it in the covering letter or is there a specific procedure?

Salve Condor82,

I'm a fellow Italian.

I have no authoritative answer to your question but I asked a similar one here:

See if that helps.

Re: Quick Q on document return request within application it

Apologies for hijacking this thread but what happens if you send your application and the you need your ID card or passport, e.g. applying for a job, etc? Do the Home Office leave some sort of statement that can be used as a surrogate for your paperworks?

noajthan, do we have any feedback on whether the HO is applying the 2013-2014 amendment(s) retrospectively?

Re: 3 months no job

As pointed out in one of my posts: http://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-route-applications/eea-pr-retroactive-interpretation-of-the-2014-amendment-t194898.html if the HO applies pre-2014 amendement legislation: Qualified person” 6.—Worker (2) A person who is no longer working shall not cease to be t...

Re: EEA-PR: retroactive interpretation of the 2014 amendment

Thanks secret.simon. As I pointed out in another thread I have lost most of the documentation between 1999-2006, which incidentally was the strongest period in terms of employment record. Pity!

Re: EEA-PR: whatto do with missing P45s, P60s, etc?

As you appear to be thin on paperwork why not contact HMRC for a tax/NI history? Not sure how far their records may go back or what they will show up but surely worth a shot. Start here: http://robertleach.co.uk/2013/08/requesting-employment-histories-from-hmrc/ Thanks. The link could possibly be t...

EEA-PR: whatto do with missing P45s, P60s, etc?

Hello, unfortunately some of the P45s of the period 2003-2008 have gone missing. My work experience in that period was not very stable. Some of the original documents have gone lost due to me moving accommodation quite often. Some of the companies have gone out of business altogether, some are still...

Re: Application for PR or PR card: form EEA (PR) - UpToDate

From what I gather this means that I've not been exercising my treaty rights and I've been a non-entity for the last 9 years... Can I apply for PR with no CSI using the 2006 - 2011 period when I was under 21 and my mother/father were exercising their treaty rights or am I completely screwed? This w...

Re: EEA-PR: retroactive interpretation of the 2014 amendment

Thank you for your reply secret.simon. If this is the case what happens with the period before 30th April 2006, when the original law came into effect? The previous legislation was the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2000. Would these regulations apply to periods 2000 to 2006? The r...

EEA-PR: retroactive interpretation of the 2014 amendment?

Hello, the original formulation of article 6(2-3-4) of the The Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006 were as follows: “Qualified person” 6.— Worker (2) A person who is no longer working shall not cease to be treated as a worker for the purpose of paragraph (1)(b) if— [...] (b)he is i...

Re: I have been issued a PR card by mistake?

This is a case of really appalling bureaucratic behaviour from the HO. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. They are making it difficult for EEA citizens while they will be allowing millions of extra-EU without even knowing who they are.

Did you mention the time you spent outside the UK in your appeal? Because if you did not and you got benefits based on providing incomplete information, you may have committed a crime. and: If you give us details of the time that you were out of the UK, that would help us advise you better. Yes, I ...

Re: Can a statement from the DWP prove entitlement to PR?

To complement my previous post, in my letter to the DWP I cited this document: http://www.parliament.uk/briefing-papers/sn05972.pdf where at page 4 it mentions: EEA nationals who have ‘resided legally’ in the UK for a continuous period of five years (or less in certain circumstances) acquire a perma...

Re: Can a statement from the DWP prove entitlement to PR?

I was advised by the DWP that my claim would be terminated after 90 days, due the new regulations for EEA jobseekers.I appealed that decision On what grounds did you appeal that decision? I appealed it on the ground that I had lived in Britain from 1999 to 2013 and then returned in 2014. I didn't m...

Can a statement from the DWP prove entitlement to PR?

Hello, my first post on immigration boards. Please have mercy on me! To cut the story short, I'm an Italian citizen who has lived on and off for 16 years in UK (the on and off is too long to explain now, but could form a separate thread). I have no intention to apply for a British citizenship any ti...
