Re: New "Settled Status" insidious wording could cause application rejections

Thanks Richard, I want to share your optimism so much, but.. Grammatically speaking, "An applicant who has been continuously resident.. " makes me logically think of an applicant who has just now achieved his status; otherwise the applicant "had been continuously resident...". I know this will be an...

New "Settled Status" insidious wording could cause application rejections

I've been carefully reading the new EU Settlement Scheme – EU citizens and their family members and I'm a bit worried that the Home Office has chosen to use a wording that, if strictly enforced, could render many applications invalid. There are people like me who, according to the EEA rules, are to ...

Russell hurt with the EU because Belgium didn't give his Russian wife a visa.

Processes and procedures for EEA documentation applications

I'll give a look at it later as I'm tired and TBH a bit disillusioned. Will anybody volunteer for a TL;TR?

!! What will happened with the 3.2 millions EU in U.K. then ?
Oh, it will be very interesting! I'm a EU immigrant and would rather have a no deal than that stupid half baked "unsettled status" that has been hinted (and not given yet)!

Re: Was May right in not challenging Trump's views on migrant

Obie, most, if not all that is currently being said about migrants of all races and colour (they come here to scrounge and steal; they breed like rabbits; they are ungrateful and destroy our country) was once said about the Irish. What are you surprised of? The EU is a great project that has kept pe...

Re: EU & Brexit Deal

I have a question , if by 31/03/2019 there is no deal between U.K. and EU what will happen with the withdraw agreement in this case ? Is still valid and the U.K. will follow this agreement or the 3.2 million EU citizens and their families will wake up on that day to find there self without rights a...

Re: EU & Brexit Deal

The statement of intent is indeed much more generous than the treaty requires. I believe your permanent residence will be transformed to ILR, though you should check the wording. You haven't read the document. This will be a special case of IRL, but not IRL. And it seems to me that, at least on pap...

Re: Is May's 'Hostile Environment Reminiscent Of Nazi Germany

Simon, with due respect, your contributions are getting more and more confused by the day. First, you have delusions of grandeur and say that basically your posts of two years ago are influencing MPs. Then you blame Europe for the hostile environment because they've had national ID papers for years....

Re: Is May's 'Hostile Environment Reminiscent Of Nazi Germany

Had the Labour policy been implemented, the Windrush issue would still have arisen. They would have been required to apply for documentation for which they did not have proof. How can you possibly say that? The papers were destroyed in 2011 not when Labour was in power (not that I have any sympathy...

Re: Is May's 'Hostile Environment Reminiscent Of Nazi Germany

Look guys: these politicians got elected because they promised to drastically lower immigration. At the end of the day nobody loves immigrants, right? So they're just doing their job. As it is almost impossible to lower extra-EU migration, they have started with the EU ones and even their own citize...

Don't hold your breath Obie. Rudd was made to pay because she's a "remoaner" not because she is a liar and incompetent. No member of government ever in the history of humanity has been sacked only because they were liars and incompetent. Whoever will follow at the HO will make sure that deportations...

And, by the way, despite being a foreigner I have an English accent, too (Brummie, actually). Will I get a British passport honoris causa?
