Criminal certificate for switching employer

Hello
The guidance says you need a certificate for entry clearance but not for extending
What about switching employer then? It's not technically applying for permission to enter the country but then I would be applying for a new visa.

Has anyone got experience with this?

Thanks

Can the job title be different on the extension COS?

Hello everyone Currently I am on Tier 2 (General) and I have moved my job internally at work. I am still employed by the same department of the sponsoring company, with the same job code. The only thing different is that my job title has changed somewhat to reflect the change in focus of my work. I ...

Yes, it applies to my job.
I had to get one for my job application before the rules came into effect anyway.

Criminal record checks

The new rules require a criminal record check for T2 applicants.
Does that apply to extension of T2 that we need a DBS check locally?
Thanks

Re: tier 2 extension queries

what documents have you given? There isn't a " guide to supporting documents" like the one when applying for the first time.

1) unlimited cos ( i assume)
2) maintenance+english not required so nothing at all?
3)biometric
4) current passport

do you need to give a photo as well? BRP?
Thanks

Re: 10 days vs same day service [urgent]

Same day means you go in person and usually get a decision on the day - premium service centre. 10 days I think is another service which is quicker than postal but not same day. Is it worth going for the expensive 10day route? The general impression i get from this board is that extensions are easy.

Re: Acknowledgement from HO after amending COS

Hi My HR amended my work end date on my COS from 5 to 3yrs, by adding a sponsor note. Is a sponsor note sufficient to correct the 'work end date' ? or do I need an acknowledgement letter / email from HO confirming the change ? I just want my Tier 2 extension to go smoothly, kindly advice. Many than...

Can I claim tax relief?

Being on tier 2 I can't have public fund.

It says tax credits are part of that fund. Can I claim tax relief though? It would be the my job's license VAT and the cost of joining an union. Does that count as using public fund or the HMRC would look and reject if they don't like it?

Re: BPR collection time falls in bank holidays

Hi. I intended to travel on 18/3 as my entrance clearance starts from that day. My decision letter says the BRP is available from 25/3, which is Easter and I have to collect it 10 days from arrival. The problem is that I don't see how I can collect the BRP during the Easter Holidays from the Post O...

Employer wants a different start date

Hello. I have got my tier 2 visa approved but I still have a question. If my employer wants to me to start a couple days later, is that possible? I have been given the clearance to enter based on a start date which is earlier though(14days before the date). Is the original "valid from" date still va...

Salary banding

It struck me today that my sponsor had not stated in my cos that my job is a nhs band 6 position The code of practice for my occupation is had one of those minimum salaries based on the banding of the job In my stupidity I have not included any document that says my job is a band 6 either Is there i...

When I was submitting the documents today, they asked if I have an offer letter to prove that I have a job, which I haven't got with me because it wasn't on the list of required documents. Hope a printed cos is enough I don't think I submitted my offer letter along with the application. CoS has all...

Re: Urgent: Do I need translations for biligual documents

That was my line of thinking until I saw a post where a user mentioned a refusal because of a non English line in a transcript. I have based my application on the guidance. I hope that's enough. When I was submitting the documents today, they asked if I have an offer letter to prove that I have a jo...

Re: Urgent: Do I need translations for biligual documents

Well in that case, if you can get it translated then go for it (for your peace of mind). If that's not possible then let's hope common sense prevails. I might ask vfs people let me write something to explain Not sure if that would work In 2012 it was okay for a short student visa. I heard they have...

Re: Withdrawal of COS after HO approval

It would be a new applications if you are not able to start your new employment for whatever reason. You cannot work for employer B with a CoS and visa issued by employer A. Your previous employer will also likely have to conduct the RLMT process again to re-employ you. Is it possible to push back ...

Re: Restrict COS start date change post visa approval

Would it be easier if I ask can start date be changed again when you have applied for the visa, or after the visa is approved?

I only know that you can't change the info on the COS when you have used it.
I think the HR is wrong

Restrict COS start date change post visa approval

Hello. I have put in the visa application just now. What I want to know is that the HR tells me the start date can be changed on my COS if the work start date needs to be changed. However, would that not cause confusion when the 30-day visa is given to me? Suppose the work start date is postponed, t...
