Re: BREXIT-- Threat or Opportunity

I apologise as this is unrelated to the theme of this discussion, but is relevant to it. In breaking news, I heard on the radio (the six o'clock news on Radio 4) that the IPPR (The Institute for Public Policy Research) has suggested that all EU citizens in the UK be given ILR, possibly via emergenc...

Re: Post Brexit Discussion

Many leave voters seemingly voted against free movement of labour. Therefore, surely remaining an EEA member would be a U turn on what was promised? Trouble is Germany's foreign ministry has worked out a plan in case of Brexit and according to a reputable German newspaper, the EEA option is not on ...

Re: Brexit visa alternatives to EU nationals

If there is to be a friendly and positive negotiation between the EU and the UK should we leave, the UK would probably allow all EU nationals currently settled to remain. How would this happen, I'd say, no one really knows. They could introduce a document similar to the blue registration certificate...

Re: Amnesty for illegal immigrants over 12years

It's a gimmick. Boris Johnson can not be trusted on anything. He makes up stuff on the go, simply put, he claims things that are not true or not entirely true, especially on platforms because nobody can challenge him there. He would never say this in an interview or in front of a TV audience because...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

The reason for asking is because this date is significantly earlier than the date I believe I've acquired PR status. That is the line that matters. Have a look at this page from my SAR response: https://i.imgur.com/6slclTo.jpg The date of my PR is a bit earlier than I expected it to be too but havi...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

Thanks CR001. You're absolutely right. My question is not about the date on the DCPR. Problem is the date they've given to me in the SAR is... 4 years before I have actually and factually acquired PR status, if you know what I mean. It's before the end of the 5-year period. For example, if, say, I'v...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

Hi all, This is in continuation to my previous post about the new rule about applications made by EEA nationals requiring DCPR. I do have DCPR issued last year but didn't know the date deemed my date of acquisition of Permanent Resident status. Some weeks ago I sent a Subject Access Request (SAR) to...

Re: From 12/11 PR Document Required for Citizenship Applicat

Thank you for being so helpful on this forum, Ohara! Yeah, that's what I tried to explain to her. I knew about this letter, had it printed actually and read her the name of the HO officer who had responded to the FOI but the NCS representative (who was an immigrant herself, judging by her strong for...

Re: From 12/11 PR Document Required for Citizenship Applicat

While I was at NCS the lady made a phone call and found that the date I acquired PR was deemed to be 01/06/2012. This is interesting. I hear that many NCS offices are happy to help EEA nationals with checking their actual date of PR with the HO. I did try to book my NCS appointment with my council ...

Re: Advice on filling form AN for naturalisation

PR and DCPR in May 2015 but free of immigration time restrictions from January 2015 (confirmed by HO). Hi Sylionheart, You mention yor DCPR and free from immigration date confirmed by HO. How did you get the confirmatoin from them, was it through Subject Access Request (SAR)? I've been trying to ge...
