Re: Second Original Documents Request - Residency

If you are an EEA national, passport won't be enough sadly. They will need evidence as European travel is not registered in your passport or on any of their systems. I believe they would want to see your tax for the financial year ending April 2016 paid, plus a letter from HMRC confirming that. If y...

Re: EU Freedom of Movement statistics

The maximum length of the so called Transitional Controls period has been 7 years, imposed by the UK and just a few other countries on Bulgaria and Romania between 2007 and 2014. In EU8's case (the wave of countries joining the EU in 2004), most of the 'old' EU countries imposed a 2-year transitiona...

Re: What to do now?

There could have been a few microns as I've always used scissors, and you can't be 100% precise with them. :-) I have only used photo booths at my local Sainsbury's for pretty much all of my IDs, including my Driving Licence years ago, I've had a Registration Certificate with the Home Office before,...

Re: What to do now?

You shouldn't worry too much as other members have already advised. I can confirm that when I received my first British Passport, the photos submitted were trimmed (no blank / white area). Mine was a direct application with HMPO via post, it all went without issues. The guidance actually advises app...

Re: Brexit court defeat for UK government

There's another dimention of the single market debate. It will be interesting to see how law will be interpreted when it comes to the EEA. The Single Market is effectively the popular name of the EEA. Members of the EEA are the EU states and the EFTA countries. And there's an interesting fact there,...

Re: Brexit court defeat for UK government

Interesting to see the same Government representative releasing contradictory statements to the press in a period of 24 hours, and basically making completely different statements before a Commons Select Committee (on Tuesday) and a Lords committee a day after. I watched the Lords EU Committee sessi...

Re: Evidence or lawful residence for EEA applicants

Hi Bluesky, I applied for my Naturalisation with my EU Identity Card, and used that card for Life in the UK as well. It's actually the only document I've ever used for all my Home Office residence documentation throughout the years - my very first registration certificate, the DCPR later on and for ...

Re: Fast track SAR for PR date?

Best of luck!! Yes, a note in the second section should do. I can't find the copy of my application but I wrote a short note explaining why I needed this date, etc. I also included the number of my DCPR, just to point their attention in the right direction. Could have been pure coincidence / chance ...

Re: Fast track SAR for PR date?

Yes, exactly. It was in the Entitlement section on the right hand side of the screen shot. It read: The date we can confirm the applicant acquired an entitlement to permanent residence is: xx/xx/xx There are four sections on this page in my SAR: 1. ISSUE and it says: EEA Permanent Residence. Appropr...

Re: Fast track SAR for PR date?

I used that service a while ago and what I did was to write a specific request in the second section of the SAR application form where I specifically asked for the date on which I have acquired PR status in the UK. I didn't use the first section at all, didn't tick on any boxes there. They came back...

I believe that'd be the date they have recorded on their system, just to stay on safe side.

Perhaps one of our proven experts here could give their opinion.

Good luck.

Re: Good Character for the BC

I have recently had Enhanced DBC check done and it shows no offense/conviction recorded in the file. Organisations with full access to PNC (Police National Computer) and PND (Police National Database), and the Home Office is one of them, can see everything that is being held on these databases. Enh...

Re: Application refused, seems HO did not check my records

I will now check it via SAR assuming if I tick in the SAR form 'IT Records' they will advise back including my PR date..? You should specifically ask for the date of your acquired PR status in the UK. This is Part B of the application form (Specific Data). They will send you a 3-4-page printout of ...

Re: Form AN - Evidence of lawful residence for EEA Nationals

There is no employment requirement for naturalisation, so demanding P60's only would be senseless. I believe they expect to see P60s as proof of tax and NI. During my naturalisation I was asked to provide further evidence of residence although I was already free from immigration control at the time...

Re: Form AN - Evidence of lawful residence for EEA Nationals

I'm guessing this letter is an update on my accounts at the time dated or do I need to get one per financial year? The Statement of Account usually shows the state of your HMRC account at the time the letter has been requested. It will show your tax and NI contributions for the past 3 years or so, ...

Re: stupid question, can i use check and send on first passp

If there's an interview office in your area, then you'll most probably receive an appointment for an interview at this centre. In case there isn't an interview office in your town, then you will receive a letter asking you to call HMPO, select the nearest or most convenient location and book an inte...

Yes, you can.

You'll receive a letter asking you to book an interview yourself or a letter with an appointment to attend an interview.

If you're self-employed they might also expect to see a Statement of Account letter from HMRC (original) that clearly shows payments of tax and National Insurance.

You can request one by calling HMRC's helpline, they will send it in the post. It usually takes up to 2 weeks.

Re: Can you complain about NCS - is it worth it?

My nationality is NZ and therefore not a high fraud country so I'm not sure why they would do that though. The Home Office has the right to request original documents from any foreign national as a part of the Naturalisation process. It's NCS's job only to make sure your application is generally OK...

Re: AN for EEA citizen - residency requirements

Make a SAR (Subject Access Request) requesting the date on which you have achieved PR status. It's not the date on your Certificate. Your caseworker sets the date, it's recorded on the Home Office systems and this is the date that matters. Once you know it then you're free to apply 12 months after t...
