Re: Changing name two times before my application for Citizenship

This has no effect on your application. For British passport, HMPO will only issue passport if your name matches your current passport While a name change does not necessarily have an impact on the application. I think a fundamental question is why does the OP keep changing names? Again this is not...

Re: Travel during BC application

My daughter was born in the UK and currently holding Tier 2 visa. She has a Hong Kong passport. I was recently granted for ILR and want to apply BC for my daughter. For the BC application, it can take up to half a year. However, during this half a year, she may need to travel in and out the UK. Her...

Re: Discretion on Being in UK at Start of Qualif. Period

If you applied already, you have to wait and see what happens. Technically, they can't exercise discretion and you must be in the UK at the beginning of the qualifying period relied upon. However, they sometimes contact the applicant and offer the option to sign a document to change the qualifying ...

Re: Citizenship application refused

I have quoted the specific section of the law that applies in this case above. The margin is to prevent a sloppy caseworker from miscalculating, rejecting your application and ...

Re: Citizenship application refused

Thanks again. It exactly states the following As this application was received on 13 February 2020, you would have had to be in the United Kingdom on 14 February 2015. As you were not in the United Kingdom on 14 February 2015, this requirement is not met. The Secretary of State has therefore refuse...

Re: British Citizenship - Good character question

Thank you for your replies. I am inclined not to declare it, reason being is that to my knowledge the Home Office does not check other records other than the Police National Computer which in my case the record is clean. I don't see how would they find out about the fine. On top of that, even if I ...

Re: British Passport delay

Working at the HMPO does not make people immune to Covid-19. This pandemic is affecting everyone alike. Therefore, those waiting for approvals should exercise patience. Things will be delayed. As far as I know, the Passport office is not an essential service, especially when most countries have trav...

It is better to declare it. It will not cause any harm to your application, especially when it's five years ago.
So I will also advise that you declare it.

So I have pretty much finished my online application for naturalisation. Re: Corona virus and Ceremony date

Let's put a positive spin on this. Yes, the case is special. There was a plan, booked a ceremony for 15th April because of the council availability and convenience. There was a global emergency so you couldn't attend ceremony (or ceremony gets cancelled anyway). This is all special and looks good. ...
