Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Hi there, Same here! I just received the Home Office citizenship invitation letter today then called my local council, Islington in London. They told me that it's been postponed until June, I should get a letter soon. But if I can't have my ceremony within three months since I got the letter dated ...

Hello I am a family of EEA National applying for citizenship. I have a question regarding five year residency proof. Re: Covid 19 and processing citizenship application

I dont think applications will be placed on hold. It will only take longer to attend to applications as many workers are working from home. However, if things get worse, obviously people's wellbeing comes first. Everything might be placed on hold. I guess there's nothing worry about because everythi...

Re: Corona virus and Ceremony date

Let's put a positive spin on this. Yes, the case is special. There was a plan, booked a ceremony for 15th April because of the council availability and convenience. There was a global emergency so you couldn't attend ceremony (or ceremony gets cancelled anyway). This is all special and looks good. ...

Re: "Explain why you are unable to provide a valid form of identification"

Just a little update and hopefully someone here could give me some more clarification: Basically I phoned the UKVI number for nationality enquiries and the lady who I spoke to was of some help but I am still a bit concerned. She basically says she doesn't know why it says that, but that my permanen...

Re: "Explain why you are unable to provide a valid form of identification"

So I am an EU citizen with permenant residence applying for citizenship through the online form. I don't have a valid passport but I do have a valid EU ID card, and every bit of online guidance I read including the official UK guidance on the governments website, says this is fine. However, in the ...

Re: Corona virus and Ceremony date

Doing application all over again is something I really dnt want to do. I totally understand life is more important all over this but we have spend quite a lot on this too. Is there way I could write a letter to home office and explain them my scenario so that they will help me with some option? You...

Re: Trouble finding proof of change of name

Hi, any advice would be much appreciated. My wife changed her name when first living in the UK way back in 2003 we believe around May time. This wasn't just a simple change of surname due to marriage but also she changed her first name as well. We actually got married in Japan before relocating to ...

Re: Can I apply for naturalisation while awaiting my BRP replacement card?

Hi! Recently I entered the border, can't find my ILR BRP, told the IO I must have misplaced it, who then checked the system and let me in, got home and applied for a new one, reported it lost (4 weeks later but presumably not a big deal since it takes longer), then found it in a drawer. This doesn'...

Hello everyone, I'm filling the form AN for naturalisation. In section Trips outside the UK, it asks "When did you first arrive in the UK?" I entered the UK for 1-year studies about 20 years ago and returned to my home country. Then I entered the UK in 2007 for studies and stay until today. In AN f...

Re: Coronavirus - exceed 90 day limit?

You have to make a choice here. If you think you will get better care in the US and/or your risks are lower, just take next flight to the US. Your health is more important than any application. You have an ILR anyway. So if you end up staying more than 90 days, wait 9 months to reset that counter a...

Thank you. It is still weird. I got further with this form and they ask questions such as 'what is your child's telephone number, or what is child's email address'. He's 12, he doesn't have any of it or even properly understands what citizenship is... use the phone number and email address of one o...
