It would seem that India has signed up to the convention
But all the information in the British Nationality Act makes reference to adoption and person resident in the UK

Why not add her to yours that is so much easier
Most banks just accept as long as you have one proof of address
I assume she has been in uk nearly the two years hence the renewal
New usually under 6 months can open an HSBC passport account
