Re: Schengian VISA with "EUROPE-2" cover for Travel Insurance

Normally travel insurance is sold either covering continental Europe or Worlwide, maybe also for North America only - just from personal experience. Whether you are on a visa or Free Movement doesn't matter.

Re: Is there a risk of ILR being cancelled if Citizenship is refused?

If the naturalisation is turned down, what is the likelihood of ILR being cancelled or revoked? Naturalisation isn't an immigration application (ILR is the last in your journey) - if application is refused you are still with ILR, unless, as said, it's established you obtained ILR fraudulently. NB. ...

I require information like dates for old applications and thinking of applying for a SAR.
If this is for naturalisation then just provide details you have or remember - some data is "if known".

Re: Adding info on previous immigration applications?

ILR is an immigration application (the last one of your immigration history). Naturalisation is an application under the British Nationality Act with it's own requirements. The question asks for any(=all) applications. So provide all details as far as you have them or remember them. Some fields are ...

Re: Application question "Trips outside the UK"

These are two different things:
- absence listing is for the required residency period (5 years) only.
- Date of first arrival is the date from which you stayed long-term in the UK (nothing to do with trips out of the UK).

Re: Cover letter and address - application for citizenship

Hi there, I'm applying for British citizenship (my current ILR was made through the 10 years route). Do I have to attach a cover letter? If so, should my advisor write the cover letter, or should it be a personal letter from myself? Regarding proof of address (which the application did not explicit...

Re: SETTLE STATUS BRC

Airlines expect to see a valid document (visa, BRC or BRP card). They are not in a position to interogate Home Office databases. Once at the UK border you can explain and perhaps take copies of emails with you, or use the egates if you can.

Re: Citizenship

You upload your referee forms with your other documents - nothing is sent by post. The requirement to put your name on the back goes back to the paper form days, so any detached pictures could be traced back to the application form. As the form and picture is scanned nobody would know if anything wa...

Re: British Citizenship for Family

The guidance hasn't been updated since the paper days - they should really explain better .... Yes you can add family members at the end of the online application (spouse, children, ...) - the system will adjust to the specific circumstances (form AN or MN1 as required). But each applicant is still ...

3-6 months is generally advisable, not too much earlier, as they are supposed to have looked at your application materials.
Agree with the timing, probably best not more than 3 months prior.
Referees are not required to review the application and documents.

Re: Which organisations to inform after a successful British citizenship

There's no legal requirement to inform anyone,
though for practical reasons I would inform, at a minimum:
- Bank (you may be able to update on your banking portal)
- Council Electoral Services
- Employer
- GP
and then on a case by case basis, if required.

Hi, I'm a Chinese national applying for British citizenship with the IRL+1 route. Re: 90 days

There's no need to wait a whole year until you can apply with 90 days absence ... you just wait wait until your absences are down to about 90 days, remember it's counting 12 months back from the application date. You will have seen in the guidance that discretion may be applied to absences up to 100...

Re: Advise needed for proof of living, passport gap between old and renewed

UC statements will be fine, the amount awarded doesn't matter, and once partner was in work P60 or pay slips for the remainder is also fine. Are you a British citizen and partner married to you? Not sure of your statement " basis of 5 years as she got ILR on 10 years basis in Nov 2019" - the five ye...

Just wondering if this is happening frequently nowadays? Can't comment on how frequent this might be - we only see what has...

She had to apply by 30 June 2021. What is her immigration status? OP stated: my mother has rec...

Re: Can I view and submit my referee forms before payment?

If HMRC tell you that you don't need to file self-assessments for your circumstances then you don't have to - it's not a requirement for naturalisation, and you are going by the advice from HMRC. It won't do any harm to mention your self-employment in a separate note to your application and pointing...
