Re: EEA Settled Status and Employment

Congrats for the new arrival!

Settled Status is a UK immigration status (no longer based on EU Treaty Rights regulations) - it is on residency basis, irrespective whether you work, what you work, or not.

And of course new baby is British - go straight for the passport!

Re: Applying for 1st Passport - Naturalised British Citizen (5-year family route) - Filipino Mother

If a person has naturalised as a British citizen all they need to provide is their certificate and foreign passport(s).
She is applying within the UK presumably? The visa route to citizenship is not relevant.

Re: ILR for Wife & Daughter

Just to add to the above: I currently have ILR. I haven't applied for Naturalisation since spending 1 year on ILR i.e. 06-07-2020. If i get my naturalisation approved and get british passport before their ILR, can they apply for naturalisation as soon as they get ILR? or do they still have to wait ...

Re: British Citizenship + EU Settled status

I take it you know the official advice: https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-spouse/after-you-get-your-certificate I don't know any "helpful" UKVI numbers - they would probably just read this text to you. And I guess you/wife are concerned that she won't have an official ID until the new passport ha...

Re: Proof of living in th UK for 5 years route

- The question asks for "any" applications, meaning all - some of the details are "if known".
- Payment by card using your brother's should be fine, as long as funds are available.

Re: Settled status and living abroad or EU

The link relates to people holding UK ILR only. If you hold UK ILR, i.e. specifically applied for it (not Settled Status), you are likely to loose ILR after 2 years absence, but may be able to apply for a returning resident visa. The EU Settled Status is more generous, i.e. 5 years absence (pre-sett...

Re: Proof of living in th UK for 5 years route

There's more to "Good Character" than not having committed any crimes... UKVI have a guidance document for caseworkers as to how they assess the requirement: htt...

Re: Naturalisation as a British Citizen Application - Identity & Travel History proof

Hello I have applied for my Naturalisation (spouse route) and have been selected to use UKVCAS IDV app to upload documents and verify my identity. I don't need to book an appointment and go in person. As part of identity and travel history do I need to: 1) Upload all the old passports? (3 including...

Statements or bills are not accepted as proof of residency - you submit your passport(s) covering the period.

Re: Settled status and living abroad or EU

No expert of Settled Status but consider that this 5 years allowance for Settled Status holders hasn't really been tested yet - scheme came in some time late 2018. Also the Home Office is well known for it's badly worded guidance on almost every topic .... what they mean (I think) is if you go over ...

Re: Referees for a child citizenship application from the same school

Referees must not be related to each other (whether through blood or marriage), they can be colleagues.
So this will be ok - unless the HT can support his concern. My referees (adult application) were colleagues in the same company where I worked.

Re: Naturalisation - choosing the route

You have a choice then - it's not a rule that you must apply on the 3 year route if you are married to a Brit - myself applied on 5 year rule even though could have gone on 3yr. The end result is the same.

Re: Naturalisation - choosing the route

I meant that you can go for the 5 year route in your own right. You still need to answer all questions as far as possible.
You just need your passport/BRP and the other required documents, not husband's passport or the marriage cert etc.

Re: What does letter from an employer have to include?

Not familiar with the guidance you quote. Here is an example of an (anonymised) employers letter which was used in an application (no issues). Note employers will have different policies as to what they write in a "reference type" letter - contact the HR department. Must be on employer letter head w...

Are you planning to apply from abroad?
There's is no such requirement as far as I know, however, you would have to include this as absence.

Re: citizenship via ILR - 5+1 years route - presence in the UK

Refer to the AN guidance, if you haven't already: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/998195/Guide_AN_final.pdf 1. You don't need to be that precise ... suggest you take your time. From 30th onward is fine. 2. You must have been in the UK 5...

Re: Naturalisation - choosing the route

Option 1 is the one to go with. Provide all details as requested (mark as "last known" or "not known" where necessary - not an issue). Explain in your cover letter. There is no specific box to tick for 3 or 5 years.

Re: Naturalisation AN family consent

All the postings I see about these "consent forms" don't refer to any statutory nationality requirements as I understand them.
If you satisfy all the requirements for naturalisation I don't see why you couldn't be approved.

Re: Naturalisation AN family consent

These forms have been introduced recently but are not part of the actual naturalisation application, I believe it's more about data consent.
You do not need anyone's consent to apply for naturalisation - the application is individual in your own right, if you can satisfy the requirements.
