Re: Citizenship application update

Standard email, this and similar emails are received regularly by members. It says "may take up to six months ...." ,the processing target, so you may be lucky to get it earlier/or within target. Nothing to worry about. They are trying to manage expectations. Sometimes emails say it will take longer...

Re: To prove a five-year stay in the UK

I know, I meant that it is possible to receive the result in just one month if everything goes well. Very unlikely .... not a regular timeline, I do remember 2 months being reported at some time, but can't remember when. I know it sounds a bit fatalistic but best to wait and see, UKVI won't help wi...

Re: What does pre-settled status mean?

And how does someone with presettled status stop being a uk resident? Is there paperwork for that? You just don't turn up in the UK, or if you are living here already you just leave, no specific form to leave - note the UK doesn't have a registration system like most EU countries, you can move arou...

Re: What does pre-settled status mean?

Anyone receiving income from any source is potentially liable to tax. Google HMRC the tax authority.
You have presettled so no paperwork required, when you apply for for full settlement you need to prove 5 years residency.

Re: What does pre-settled status mean?

Thank you so much for answering my question. So do i understand it correctly, that if i don't work (and have never worked) in UK, i will definitely not get a suprise bill just for having the presettled status? Bill for what? The application was/is free and you only pay tax and national insurance if...

Re: What does pre-settled status mean?

Pre-settled status is “limited leave to remain” in the UK. You can live in the UK, will pay tax if working. After five years residency you can apply for full settlement/ILR, leading to citizenship if you wish to go for that.

If Miss CHILD 1 does not have a passport then you must provide another officially issued identity document. This could include an official travel document...

Passport is not required, birth certificate is the alternative. Caseworkers will know child is only 4, just show the one address for five years. In the form they asking for nationality and it’s mandatory to choose. She is born in UK and has got only birth certificate. It's the parents' nationality. ...

Re: Are there any companies that provide support when applying for citizenship?

The majority of applicants who post on this board complete the application themselves, it is actually an application that is very straightforward compared to most immigration applications (naturalisation is not immigration). Of course you can always engage a legal adviser, who basically will fill in...

Re: 5-year address history

One could only speculate. Caseworkers can and sometimes do ask for further information and/or documents, even if it was provided with the original application. Whether there's an issue is anybody's guess. Or they are just "dotting the i's and crossing the t's"?

Re: When does the clock for days absent in the past year stop?

She's free to travel after the application is submitted and absence days after that date don't count against the 90 day limit. Of course, she'll need to be in the UK for biometrics and the ceremony.

Re: Naturalisation Application - 4 + Months, No Response from FNE

Hello All, I was given ILR in 2016 and submitted naturalisation application in October 2023. A straight forward application as since the ILR I have travelled less than 100 days overseas so absences are not a problem. Don't own a car so no parking tickets or penalty notices. Worked and paid taxes on...

Re: Applying child dependent visa for my children

I was in the same situation. I applied for Child Dependent visa for my child. Once the visa is granted, it will say ILE (not remain, remain is when they're already in the country), they will issue the biometric resident permits when they arrive. There is no getting around the NHS charge that I know...

It's generic, many people receive this and similar emails. Essentially they haven't finished processing and/or may be late with the decision. You haven't reached the 6 months processing target - which is not a promise! NB. please don't post questions, discussions, etc in the time line thread - it fo...

You normally submit documents online so it would be a copy of an original. Online statements are normally acceptable for most UKVI visa and immigration applications.

Re: Didn't write PEX reference on address label - should I be worried about it?

All I can suggest is wait and monitor the online status and contact HMPO to explain and ask for advice. It may take some time until the call agent(s) understand what the issue is. If you are not satisfied.

Re: Didn't write PEX reference on address label - should I be worried about it?

Why didn't you write it on the envelope yourself?
It may take a while for HMPO to match up your documents with the application.
Not familiar with Post Office procedures but HMPO and postcode is sufficient - they deliver 1000s of applications every day.
