Tech Nation, timeline for Stage 1

Hi all, How fast did you receive notice of endorsement from Tech Nation during stage 1? My advisor says it normally takes 2-3 weeks. And one of my colleagues was rejected in less than 2 weeks in December 2018. It takes much longer for my application, which makes me a bit nervous. It is still within ...

Re: Name of work permit

Ok, game design is out of my current scope. I can only help hardcore technical people. Sorry for that. I suggest to print the information from gov.uk website and show it to potential employers. Do not try to explain it yourself. Just give them the link or paper and say you can work you do not need s...

Re: The papers sent to Home Office and the online documents to Tech Nation

As far as I know, the main application is digital, not the paper one. Does it mean that solicitor also forgot to submit one of other evidences? TechNation form allows to upload up to 10 pieces of evidence max. There is no way he could upload 11 files. I suggest to reach TechNation visa team by email...

V_i_k_i, what role did you apply for?

If you were endorsed by TechNation and you're in London, maybe I can help. :)

Re: Name of work permit

In my opinion, if employer is unable to spend 10 minutes to learn about this visa route and do the online check described in this topic (general-uk-immigration-forum/online-rig ... 70094.html), you probably should not work for them.

Re: Switched T1 (Entrepreneur) to T1 (Exceptional Talent) -- when can I apply for ILR?

I think I saw a post on this forum from a person who switched from Tier 2 (General) after 3 years to Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) and applied for ILR almost immediatelly. Caseworker was surprised because 3 years rule was new, but ILR was granted. nickp, please let us know how it goes for you. I am in...

The explanation looks clear to me.

Did you provide any details about completed projects and real world application of your skills?

Bonus question: when did you submit the application form?

Re: Police registration, second passport confusion

Hi, did your colleague manage to get any clarification on this by any chance? Yes, I have a small update. My colleague showed both passports in OVRO. And officer did a very strange thing. He added information about second passport in between (!) the cells on police certificate. There is a bit of sp...

I'll bump this topic once. This question is really interesting, IMO.

One of my colleagues will go to OVRO next week and ask officer about it. He is in the similar position (2+ active passports).

Police registration, second passport confusion

Hi all, Thank you for maintaining such a great forum, it's very useful! I live in UK on Tier 2 General visa. I have two passports from my country of origin . Both passports are active. Both passports have different numbers, but the expiration date is the same. Both passports were obtained BEFORE ent...

Re: Tenancy Agreement-Documents For Tier 2 Dependent visa

It's really weird. New rules for tenancy agreements were implemented recently. All landlords must confirm the "right to rent" of potential tenants and keep records of relevant documents. It is also possible to confirm your "right to rent" even without BRP! There is a special form on Home Office webs...

I also had a meeting with person who claimed remittance basis on work-related visa in the past. Both of them never heard about immigration status affecting the tax affairs i...

I was looking through Tier 2-5 guidance and accidentally noticed detailed information related to nurses. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/515819/Tier_25_guidance_04-16_v1.2.pdf See the last section: Annex 9: non EU/EEA trained nurses. Re: Lost job, need to find new employer for sponsorship

If I get it right, you have 60 days from the day of your curtailment letter. So it's basically 6 days till next Friday + some time to get letter + 60 days. Letters may be delayed, but I would not count on this. In this time frame you'll need to find another sponsor, pass all interviews, complete the...

I see it as common question relevant for many people.
It may help someone looking (googl'ing) for answers in future.

I've looked through Immigration Act 2014 and I do not see anything related to "shares", "stocks", "investments". I guess, this is the full text: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2014/22/pdfs/ukpga_20140022_en.pdf I see information about "disqualified" persons related to rents and opening of bank ...

Re: UK Bank Accounts/Investments/ISAs if I don't renew my vi

From my personal experience: 1) ISA is available only for UK tax residents. 2) Savings accounts are available for UK tax residents too. I received letters from my banks explaining this change. 3) Looks like keeping current accounts is not prohibited. But you won't be able to open new ones. And your ...

1) No taxes on money acquired before arrival to UK. This money was taxed in your home country. I suggest to keep statements and tax forms in case of enquiry. Do not throw it away. 2) Nothing comes to my mind. 3) Yes, but you need to have at least 325.000 pounds in total to be affected by IHT. Also, ...

I had an immigration advice from OISC Level 2 Immigration adviser based in the City of London. Few key points: 1) Domicile is not related to visa types. Visa rules might change. Domicile definition might change (very rarely). Those things are not connected with each other. More inforamtion on domici...

It is the relief basically designed for non-doms on remittance basis employed in UK. Weblink removed by moderator Full guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...
