Re: South African wife, married to Irish national, wanting to travel

Hi, I could use some advice, with references if possible please. My wife has recently received her stamp 4 residence card. We are looking to travel, and want to understand what the current rulings are. I've read the forum questions, but the questions and answers are from 2010 and 2014. Does she req...

Re: Fiancée Visa Ireland

Dear Max For ther previous two visits, she came as a 'tourist' ie competely unrelated to me, as if she were just a visitor. This was just the quickest and easiest option for us at the time but obviously won't be suitable anymore. So just to clarify, all I need for my fiancee to come and live and ge...

Re: Travelling without residence card

Hi, my wife is Italian citizen and I moved to Ireland last month on eu spouse visa under free movement rights. I'm in the process of applying for my residence card soon. But my brother's wedding is coming up in couple of months back in India. Is it possible for me to travel back to India for couple...

Re: Fiancée Visa Ireland

Hi again Max In regards to the short stay 'c' visa, it states under the title; "If a friend or family member in Ireland is helping to pay for your visit" that "if they are self employed , they must provide a letter that includes: A description of their business and the products or service they prov...

Re: Spouse of Irish National Stamp 4 Application - Help!

The grounds for as to why they rejected us wasn’t really clear. My husband was married once before so it could have been that. Perhaps even because we are a gay couple but I’m really not sure. Well actually perhaps he will get his Stamp then after his masters. My husband was a different case. He wa...

Re: Appointment for status enquiry of EU1 application in dublin office

No, you can't meet the EU Treaty Rights case workers even if you are able to book an appointment. EU Treaty Rights does not deal with public at the counters. I wouldn't suggest e-mail communication for anything official either, most of the time the person replying has nothing to do with the actual a...

I don't know how to thank you Max, you've been so helpful. Thank you a thousand times. I am going to look over what you've told me and get back to you again soon - I'm sure I'll have more questions if you don't mind! Thank you again! No problem! I'm glad I was able to help with your questions :)

Re: Fiancée Visa Ireland

Dear Max Thanks for your info. Just to clarfiy, is this how the process would look? 1. She applies to come as my 'guest' to Ireland after I send an invitation to her (how long can she come for?) 2. While she's here, we go to the registrar to inform of intention to marry. 3. The interview occurs whi...

Re: Fiancée Visa Ireland

Thanks for clarifying your current situation, that certainly helped. I think that the next common step is to get legally married either in Ireland, Russia or anywhere else since you are already engaged, that would be the easiest way to bring her legally to Ireland. If you decide to get married in Ir...

Re: Fiancée Visa Ireland

There is no fiancée visa to Ireland or any similar category so if you have been living together for the past 2 years and able to prove it a De Facto Partnership visa will be the best route to follow: http://inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/De%20Facto%20Relationships 1. Will Ireland or the UK be easier? Def...

Re: Traveling while waiting for the approval

Hi, I sent my application 3 months ago and was planning to go on holiday in July. Great if I received the certificate and are able to do the Irish passport on time, however I was wondering what would happen if I don’t? What if I only received the cert but don’t have enough time to apply for passpor...

Re: Spouse of Irish National Stamp 4 Application - Help!

Hi guys, just to update, we went to GNIB this morning. Met the guy at query counter, who said that the person had written some notes who had originally rejected us, and said that since my husband came in on a stamp 2, and then we got married, it looks like he intentionally deceived the immigration ...

Re: Non EU spouse, arrived in Ireland, what next?

Go to the Garda station the nearest to you and bring the documents you mentioned and look for the immigration officer. There he or she will process your documents for your husband to get the GNIB card,or the IRP. Then go to the intreo office to apply for the PPS number. this is the process I went t...

Re: Spouse of Irish National Stamp 4 Application - Help!

So - I got my residency updated to a stamp 4. I took a ticket from reception for the queries desk and waited approximately an hour and a half for my number to be called. Explained my situation, was escalated to a manager. They gave me an appointment on the spot, went back to the same cranky old lad...

Re: Expired Green Card 4 years ago

If a green card was abandoned with or without your knowledge is highly unlikely that you will ever get a green card again. Feel free to do some research online, plenty of cases similar to yours.

Re: Non EU spouse, arrived in Ireland, what next?

See link below, section 1. How do I apply? scenarion B. : http://inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/WP07000024 He won't be able to work until a Stamp 4 (IRP) is issued, once the application is initially reviewed (~8 weeks) by INIS a temporary Stamp 4 will be issued and with that stamp he can apply for a PPSN...

Re: EUTR documentation - issue with tenancy

1. The application requires a tenancy agreement and a letter from the landlord confirming my stay with my wife. But the letting agency doesn't allow another member to be added to the tenancy agreement. We are already planning to find a new place but it is hard to find a new place in cork so we want...

Re: EUTR documentation - issue with tenancy

Yes, if you and your EU wife do not have a tenancy agreement get some sort of letter from your landlord or flatmate so you can send that instead with your EU1 application.

Re: Spouse of Irish National Stamp 4 Application - Help!

Well either that immigration officer is hugely misinformed or he had a personal issue with you guys! It's written on their website that except short stay C visas if the non-EU national is legal in the country they have to issue the Stamp 4 on the spot. I would go there again with the print out of t...

Re: Spouse of Irish National Stamp 4 Application - Help!

That sounds very strange! The Stamp 4 should've been issued when you met the immigration officer, I guess you are right - you were the unlucky ones that day. I would challenge their decision, if you go to their offices in Dublin and request to meet with a manager at counter 15 (sometimes counter 14)...
