Re: becoming Irish to accelerate wife citizenship

My wife`s eufam card is valid until her passport expires, in 2021, someone said that if i become Irish she wont have to get stamp4 until she will naturally renew the card, is that true? So lets say this year 2019 i become Irish, can she still travel on eufam card till the expiration date in 2021? I...

Re: Spouse of Irish National Stamp 4 Application - Help!

Hi all, My husband is a visa-required national on a student visa (Stamp 2). We got married in October 2018 after a 5 year long distance relationship, and presented to GNIB in November for his Stamp 4, and the man said we had to write to the department and refused it. I emailed the SOIN department, ...

Re: becoming Irish to accelerate wife citizenship

I feel this is pretty much a personal choice rather than something we can comment on, if it makes sense for you and your wife then go for it. Depending on how much you travel to have a Stamp 4 EUFAM it's nice because there is no need for a visa to the EU but if you don't travel that much it makes se...

Re: Visa to England from Ireland

Is your EU husband travelling with you and your children to the UK? If you and your children get a Stamp 4 EUFAM in Ireland and are travelling together with your EU spouse to the UK then there is no need for a UK visa. If you and your children are travelling without your EU spouse then you all will ...

Re: Stamp 4 for non-EEA citizen (Malaysia) with EU partner (Portugal)

Definitely easier and quicker option is to get married in Ireland and since you are in a marriage-like relationship makes sense to me to take it to the next level. That's great to hear, at least it's in our hands. Do you know how long it takes from the moment we get married to her front the stamp 4...

Re: Urgent Deportation matter!

The first thing about the marriage the registrar office said we have to go to circuit court and appeal on their decision. And also they said they don’t wanna stop us to getting married. We can go anywhere but not here. Secondly the permission/ leave to remain is refused as well. About our second ch...

Re: Urgent Deportation matter!

We are not legally married because we tried but they didn’t let us in 2016. About the EU1A we applied as a permitted family member of EU citizen ( defector partner ) Obviously the easiest way to get out of the imminent deportation order is to get married since you are in a marriage-like relationshi...

Re: Non-Eu spouse visa rejected

I think their biggest concern is that you will use Ireland as a back door to the UK through the Common Travel Area (CTA) given the fact that there is no passport control between Ireland and the UK. I recommended to others in similar circumstances to not waste time and effort in an appeal. I would s...

Re: Thai girlfriend due to have our child soon. How do I get her to Ireland long-term?

Hi, I was just wondering what is the best route to attempt to bring my Thai girlfriend to live in Ireland? She is the mother of my soon-to-be-born daughter, who I will make an Irish passport for. We are not married. The information online is confusing. For example, the RES3 Form (http://www.inis.go...

Cheers :D As a follow on Q, I presume so it doesn't matter if you are in the US on an Irish visa, but marry as a British person. In other words... even if the nationality on the residence visa is different from the nationality shown at marriage registration in the US, then you are married in the ey...

Re: Married under other nationality (dual citizenship)

Just to confirm... If a dual national eg a person who has Irish and British passports decides to get married under the British passport eg in the US to an American (British nationality used rather than Irish as a move to the UK was in the pipeline), they are legally considered married in Ireland to...
