Re: Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

I have just spoken to the EU settled scheme resolution centre, they took some details and said they would be in in touch as the paper applications are not ready yet and might take up to 2 weeks. Surinder Singh applications must be completed by paper and NOT online.

Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

Hello, would anyone know when the paper application forms for Surinder Singh applicants will be released for those who wish to apply for settled status under the EU settlement scheme? seems to be a complete grey area and not much information regarding it?

Re: EU SETTLEMENT SCHEME AND FAMILY MEMBERS OF BRITS (SURINDER SINGH)

Where are you getting the information regarding 1st of May? the government seem to be handing out settled status left right and centre to all EU citizens but Non EU citizens having problems. But I’m sure the government don’t mind as they will get more votes to remain in the EU if there was ever a se...

EU settlement scheme/SS requirements

Hello I’d like to know if anyone knows the requiremts for Surinder Singh applications being made to the new EU settlement scheme? Must the British citizen be exercising treaty rights for the non EU spouse to make an application or is it based on continuous residence?

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Initially, I was of the opinion it is pure laziness or incapability of bureaucrats. But now I strongly believe it is a well-engineered policy with a combination of laziness, randomness, and disguise to covertly keep the anti-immigrant policy intact and limit the numbers below certain numbers and ob...

Settled status (if article 50 delay)

Just curious if anyone knows, will the settled status scheme be fully open for all applicants in the scenario that Brexit is delayed beyond March 29th?

Re: Citizenship Application Processing Stages and Freedom of Information

Applied in June 2017 and my wife still waiting, back in October 2018 we received a letter asking for some further documentation like doctors letter, bank statements covering past years, we submitted everything before so don’t know why they asked again, but we did as requested. But why did it take so...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

I wouldn’t waste my time to be quite honest. We’ve been waiting over 1 year and 7 months and many people on here are getting their approvals within months.. I don’t know if it’s a filtering process depending on which country the applicant is from (my wife’s from Philippines), EU family seem to be ge...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Eventually got through to the INIS.. they said my wife’s application is still being processed and will go through a final check and that apparently there is a Brexit backlog, probably another year before we get any result, 1 year and 7 months later and still nothing the whole process has been a joke.

Re: Renounce British citizenship living in NI

Yes, if you renounce your British citizenship , you would become solely an Irish citizen from the date your renunciation certificate is issued and your wife would need to meet the requirements applicable to spouses of Irish citizens (at the moment, the same as those for EEA citizens). Thank you for...

I was not a qualified person for 5 years, as I left work last year to care for my daughter so I don’t believe we are eligible for permanent residen...

Thank you so there is no way I can use my right to be an Irish citizen
There is a way, but you will need to renounce your British citizenship and become solely an Irish citizen, then you can apply under EU rules.

Re: EEA Family Permit- American Citizen Application

Americans don’t need to apply for an EEA family permit to come to the UK, but you will need a family permit if you would like to work while waiting waiting on the residence card which can take up to 6 months.

Good luck waiting on anything from them , my wife applied as the spouse of an Irish citizen living in Northern Ireland, been waiting 1 year and 6 months, no result. Don’t go by other people’s timelines as it means nothing, all you can do is wait basically.
