Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

The response we had was via email. We are not banking on a result happening anytime soon, probably a result of some sort within this year, the whole process is a joke..

Re: EEA Family Permit- American Citizen Application

Americans don’t need to apply for an EEA family permit to come to the UK, but you will need a family permit if you would like to work while waiting waiting on the residence card which can take up to 6 months.

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

We had a response from a TD who contacted INIS on our behalf, they said in their reply it is not uncommon for applications to take 2 years or more.. ridiculous.

Re: Citizenship: After 4 months I haven't received acknowledgement letter - What do do?

Good luck waiting on anything from them , my wife applied as the spouse of an Irish citizen living in Northern Ireland, been waiting 1 year and 6 months, no result. Don’t go by other people’s timelines as it means nothing, all you can do is wait basically.

Re: 2nd stage letter

Apparently many people do not get a second stage letter and just go straight to an approval. If you look at other people’s time lines on here, it seems to be non Eu family based on 5 years residence seem to be getting their approvals the fastest. I think it also depends on where the applicant is fro...

@ghzsherazi he was asked to send recent utility bills and bank statements. I’ve not really heard about that from someone applying with 3yrs marriage to Irish citizen from NI. My wife’s application is based on 3 years marriage to an Irish citizen from NI, she applied in July 2017, in October 2018 we...

Re: Surinder Singh - Switching to UK visa?

I called UKVI this morning they told me that it is possible to switch to UK visa as long as we meet the other requirements and that the turnaround times were 8 weeks. One of the requirements is that your wife be in the UK lawfully or that it would be unreasonable or infeasible for your British chil...

I applied for the citizenship as EU passport holder (German), so not sure do they have one team for EU citizens or whatever or they are just all the same.

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

they send the same templates in stage one and two, so unless you have a letter stating you're in stage two, you're in stage one, but then you can be in stage two for a while :( Many people have got approvals without a stage 2 letter, we emailed them the other day and got a response from citizenship...

EEA Family Permit: ILR vs Residence card

You should not have applied for British citizenship so early, but waited until your spouse had completed five years under EU law and acquired PR. Does your wife have any residence in the UK before 2013/her marriage to you? Have you formally renounced your original EEA citizenship? I.E. did you writ...

The reason why it was refused is because your husband is a dual citizen but first and foremost is a British citizen, I’m also from Northern Ireland. I have been told from quite a few sources that if your husband renounced his British citizenship you can then rely on EU rules to remain in the UK, I a...
