Re: INIS treating Pakistanis and Africans differently?

http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/press-release-650-new-irish-citizens-receive-their-certificates-of-naturalisation-in-waterford Check out the above. The relevant countries got almost zero approvals in the previous ceremony. Not even in the list. How unfair and ridiculous. Even the ceremony befor...

Re: INIS treating Pakistanis and Africans differently?

Hi guys, What I suggest is lets contact some of the journalist, reporters who covered Citizenship issue recently.. If at least 5-6 people email those people They will put on their newspaper. Imagine a topic like " Citizenship applicants cannot leave Ireland for a year" made a huge noise. Now if we ...

Re: INIS treating Pakistanis and Africans differently?

I ll also try the FOI option in order to make sure that I have exhausted every single Avenue and INIS dont have any other excuse left. How long does it take for you to get a copy of FOI? If the above doesnt work, I am definitely going to the high court as this will help many others. Information abo...

Re: INIS treating Pakistanis and Africans differently?

I am not sure but it also depend on the home country to come back with all documents immigration department is requesting from them, how fast they are in such process is probably depend on our home country as well. Also I have seen many others from the country you have mentioned got approval within...

Re: INIS treating Pakistanis and Africans differently?

What sort of background checks would take 2 to 3 years?l? I think it s just a mere exaggeration that they need 2 or 3 years to check someone s background, while they want 6 months for this as per their official websites, regardless of someone s nationality. Things got far better during the later per...

Re: INIS treating Pakistanis and Africans differently?

It s definitely not the information that they need from any such countries, as a real friend of mine got his approval in just 5 months, but that was around 2 or 3 years ago. At that time, majority of the people were getting approvals within the 6 months period. It stayed like this for a couple of ye...

Re: INIS treating Pakistanis and Africans differently?

Even though they say 6 months. Honestly it’s more like 2 years. I will say I feel British, Americans and some eu countries seem to get priority. Yes. One of my friends has an irish wife, irish kids and he applied in 2017 and is still waiting for a decision on his application. Some other members hav...

INIS treating Pakistanis and Africans differently?

Guys Sorry if I missed some other countries, but naturalisation applications from Pakistanis and Africans seem to be getting particularly delayed by INIS for no reason, while all of us are paying taxes to the irish government, just like any other applicants and don't have any criminal record or even...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

I kept emphasising that the deciding people's fate based on Dictionaries is “unworkable”, “overly literal”, “unduly rigid” and gives rise to an “absurdity” and now finally the court has also realised that. But still, there is no proper guideline regarding the 6 weeks absence rule, whether the minist...

Re: Visa Revoked and Citizenship

Yes, they will still probably wait for an update from INIS before issuing approval for citizenship, but that doesnt stop you from applying for the passport, as you now meet the conditions for it.

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

So let’s arrange a massive demonstrations in front of INIS and high court to show them who make a decision that we are not alone, let’s show them that we are standing together. Otherwise no one will come to our homes and no one gonna help us . Spread out the information that we are gonna gather in ...

Re: Visa Revoked and Citizenship

I know a guy from this forum who applied for his PR and then applied for citizenship later on, cant remember his ID off the top of my head though. Also when someone s GNIB card expires, sometimes the citizenship office ask them for the new GNIB card, so it is ok to apply for citizenship if you think...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

Both INIS and the court need to get this issue resolved ASAP. It is stupid and unfair to keep applicants waiting for ages due to one wrong decision from the court. INIS issued citizenship approvals to thousands of people and nobody had a clue about what the law stated or did not state until a grumpy...

@usmanch313: did your citizenship application also get rejected because of your PR revoked or they are considering it?

@Alixlboy: are they 2 different department's??
Yes, but I think they do exchange information.

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

Anyone who is happy about the unjustifiable delays from INIS either doesnt have an application with the department, or if they have one, they must be ready and willing to face the same delays as they are okay with them. Why are they even visiting the immigration blogs? They must relax for a couple o...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

If they don't let you go anywhere one year prior to lodging the application, what else would you call it? The Minister has said he does want people to be able to travel and is prepared to change the law to allow this. You cannot let them own you and stop you from travelling around the world, just f...

If they don't let you go anywhere one year prior to lodging the application, what else would you call it? Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

So what do we think?
Will the next ceremony be at the end of Oct or Nov?
As per INIS they need 4 weeks to send out the approval notifications. So it may not be until the end of Nov?

Re: September Citizenship Ceremony 2019

Folks Believe it or not, all we need is an organized protest against this unfair treatment towards regular tax payers like us. I think I ll have to discuss this with my friends and take some posters and stand outside their Burgh Quay office so that at least that can make them think that they are doi...
