Re: Visa Revoked and Citizenship

I know a guy from this forum who applied for his PR and then applied for citizenship later on, cant remember his ID off the top of my head though. Also when someone s GNIB card expires, sometimes the citizenship office ask them for the new GNIB card, so it is ok to apply for citizenship if you think...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

Both INIS and the court need to get this issue resolved ASAP. It is stupid and unfair to keep applicants waiting for ages due to one wrong decision from the court. INIS issued citizenship approvals to thousands of people and nobody had a clue about what the law stated or did not state until a grumpy...

@usmanch313: did your citizenship application also get rejected because of your PR revoked or they are considering it?

@Alixlboy: are they 2 different department's??
Yes, but I think they do exchange information.

Re: Visa Revoked and Citizenship

Hi guys apologies I'm not trying to Hijack the topic.. as I know you guys are experienced and I was reading your responses from last couple of years, which were really helpful.. Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

Anyone who is happy about the unjustifiable delays from INIS either doesnt have an application with the department, or if they have one, they must be ready and willing to face the same delays as they are okay with them. Why are they even visiting the immigration blogs? They must relax for a couple o...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

If they don't let you go anywhere one year prior to lodging the application, what else would you call it? The Minister has said he does want people to be able to travel and is prepared to change the law to allow this. You cannot let them own you and stop you from travelling around the world, just f...

If they don't let you go anywhere one year prior to lodging the application, what else would you call it? You cannot let them own you and stop you from travelling around the world, just for the sake of citizenship. Even the people who have been waiting for a long time for this, have fears that they ...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

So what do we think?
Will the next ceremony be at the end of Oct or Nov?
As per INIS they need 4 weeks to send out the approval notifications. So it may not be until the end of Nov?

Re: September Citizenship Ceremony 2019

Folks Believe it or not, all we need is an organized protest against this unfair treatment towards regular tax payers like us. I think I ll have to discuss this with my friends and take some posters and stand outside their Burgh Quay office so that at least that can make them think that they are doi...

I meant 60k apps in a period of a couple of years, not just one year.
Whatever it is, they need to do something asap.

Re: Stamp 2 expires before marriage to Irish National

Previously it wasnt a problem. So shouldn't be an issue. I know people who got married and went to GNIB after one or two years of expiry of their student visas and didn't get asked any questions. I am not a 100 percent sure about now, but if they do come up with any silly questions, just tell them t...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

The new minister seems to be a super lazy person. I remember how they were issuing approvals exactly after 6 months not long ago, but now they dont seem to care. Someone really needs to drag them to high court again.

Re: September Citizenship Ceremony 2019

Guys, I spoke with my lawyer, he told me that there will be no approval until they figure out what to do with this new law. I am on second stage from June as many of you here. This entire system is a bloody joke. In every other EU country if you apply for citizenship it takes maximum 6 months to ma...

Your initial 6 months of temporary review stamp should also be counted here.
Also make sure you deduct any periods longer than 6 weeks of holidays from your application.

Response from INIS to emails

Has anyone heard anything from INIS recently? I seem to have sent them a couple of email and it has been months and I don't seem to have received a response. Wondering what's going on? Are they ignoring all emails? If so, they should at least dedicate more time on sending approvals. Looks like the w...

I think they still can never deport you as your new spouse is Irish. You should double check with a solicitor to see what s your best option in this case, but find a real knowledgeable one. A lot of them dont know themselves.

Re: September Citizenship Ceremony 2019

It s strange how a ruling from an irish court can be based on definition of a word "continuous" from oxford dictionary and not common sense, clear facts and human rights. How can you stop or restrict any person from travelling just for the sake of irish passport. I think this simply shows how blind ...

Re: Visa Revoked and Citizenship

I think they dont like it when someone on stamp 4 EU fam applies irish passport for their child even if they are entitled to do so. I know a person who did this and got a letter of revocation after a few months. This is totally insane. How can they stop people from doing so? They dont care if the ma...
