Re: Heathrow Immigration Control - Mixed Passports

I always went to non-EU line with my non-EEA spouse, even though I held EU/British passport, our child BC too. However, I found that the non-EU line is faster than EU queues in certain airports (Luton, Liverpool) that receive mainly flights within EU. Nobody ever minded me or my child with a EU/Brit...

Re: Automatic border gates: compulsory?

They are nowhere said to be compulsory. Gov.uk guidance everywhere says "you can use e-passport-Gates" to save time, avoid queues etc.

Re: EU Settlement Scheme & Toufik Lounes cases

I wonder the treatment and fate of pending TL applications past the Brexit day in case of no deal. I am wondering the same... I tend to believe that any application placed before October 31st will still follow the TL judgement even if it's decided after October 31st. What you said makes sense and I...

Re: EU Settlement Scheme & Toufik Lounes cases

Thanks for this detailed information. Another application? I think I will die! Why do they have to make everything THAT DIFFICULT? The purportedly simple 30 minutes application with 1-4 days decision time to protect EU residents and their family rights in shambles by the institutionally dearly belo...

Re: Do dual EU-UK citizens have rights under EU law?

In my case HO said they cannot give a time like it can take up to 6 months. They just keep saying, Lounes case/ paper applications take significantly longer than online application. So far they’ve returned my passport quickly and I sent my biometrics with no hassle and no cost. So far so good. I’ll...

Re: EU Settlement Scheme & Toufik Lounes cases

We have been advised over the phone by the EU Resolution Centre that the "service standard" for the paper applications is 6 months. However, I doubt EU Settlement Scheme applications would on average take that long. I guess it would vary a lot on each individual circumstances, whether they need to ...

Re: EU Settlement Scheme & Toufik Lounes cases

I would also add that currently there is no statutory basis for the EU Settlement Scheme as it is would become law through ratification and ascent of the Withdrawal Agreement Bill. Therefore, the exception of Equality Act 2010 for Immigration purposes on the basis of Schedule 3, Part 4, Paragraph 17...

Re: Is duration of marriage a requirement for settled status?

5. Having 2 ILR/settled statuses provides additional immigration status legal protection of right to remain. I don't think you can have two ILR at the same time. I might be mistaken, but I'm under the impression that you can only have one status under UK law. You can have concurrent statuses if one...

Re: Is duration of marriage a requirement for settled status?

Therefore, if the non-EEA family member has indefinite leave to remain If this is the case what is the point of applying for Settled status? Non-exhaustive and specific to our case. I agree for 99% of people these are of low importance. 1. It's free 2. My spouse has ILR as refugee, can be revoked i...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

My spouse applied for naturalisation on the basis of ILR + BC spouse and had her UKVCAS appointment for biometrics and document scanning. She applied for EU Settled status on the basis of ILR and marriage and living in the UK with EU citizen (myself, later became BC, valid per Lounes). The EU Settle...
