We received the confirmation two weeks after we sent in our EEA1 and EEA2 applications. That was about a week ago.

If you applied together with your husband (via EEA1) then the process will appearently only take 6 to 8 weeks, btw.

Yes, we are just in the process of doing that. We applied last week, and she was called yesterday to come in for an interview today.

Will she get the number on the spot and only the card arrives in 4 weeks or will it take 4 weeks to get the number itself?

That means that hundred of EU nationals will have to leave the country (if they don't want their non EU spouses to be "deoprted") because their wife/husband has the wrong passport. That's disgraceful, IMO (assuming that the Info on the dete website is final and no other provisions will be made). Tha...

Hi Peter, there are several threads with Informations on the Kumar Case somewhere on here. The case has been ruled in favour of the DOJ. Probably partly due to Mr. Kumars circumstances (previous illegally staying in the UK and Belgium). AFAIK the case now goes to the supreme court, which is expected...

Glad to hear that it worked out well for you. We sent our EEA1 and EEA2 applications about 2 weeks ago. Hope it will be as quick. Did you get a confirmation of receipt, and how long did it take? My wife is currently looking for a job but she would like to have the letter to show to the prospective e...

Thanks for that Platinum. If that's really the case, then it has to mean that this will be the case for all pending applications. As I am moving soon I sent them a letter last week demanding e response to my appeal from 3 months ago. Lets see what they come up with. Will post it here if I receive it...

Thanks for the updates, guys. I just wanted to make everything watertight. I have had enough trouble in Ireland, and don't want the same to happen in the UK.

Just once I want everything to run smooth, and get on with our lives asap. :D

EEA2 Application - Supporting Documents Check

Hello together, we are currently in the process of moving from Ireland to the UK and just finished filling in the EEA1 and EEA2 forms. We will send them together, as we understand that there is a chance that it will speed up the process. We are married for a year and been living in Ireland since the...

Yes, I know flying out of Belfast would be an option. And we might have to do that. But I would have preferred a completely legal way. I have been up to NI a few times the last few months and twice (out of maybe 30 times) there was Police and customs checking at the border. Just didn't wanna take an...

Cancel pending EU1 application?

Hello together, my wifes EU1 application got turned down, and we appealed the decission a few months back. But we are still awaiting the outcome of the appeal. We now decided to leave Ireland, and will move within the next 2 weeks. We keep the option open to come back at a later stage (i.e. after sh...

Yeah, all a pain in the backside, tbh. My wife had been stuck doing nothing in Ireland for a year now. One of the main reasons for her to fly back was to get a Re-Entry spouse Visa so that we can at least go and travel a bit. Now she has the spouse visa, but cannot get a re-entry permit, even though...

Hi Scrudu, thanks for that. I asked my wife to confirm again that she will get the GNIB card for sure if I come with her tomorrow. So she tried again, but without success. The woman on the counter (who was very nice according to my wife) even called the EU Treaty Department, and they told her that t...

She has a D-Spouse Visa. She extra flew home 6000 miles to get it, as she was previously on a "normal" visa.

She applied for a multiple entry one, but the embassy told her they issue only single entry ones, and she would have to apply for a re-entry permit at the GNIB office.

The people in the GNIB office in Town are IMO now officially the biggest Idiots in the whole of Ireland. Today my wife went to get a re-entry permit. She went to the INIS Desk and was told that they couldn't issue her with one as she doesn't have a GNIB card yet. Explaining that her EU1 application ...

Type D Spouse Visa - Re-Entry Permit Procedure?

Hi,

my wife recently picked up her new spouse visa, and now we have to go to the UK for a few days before moving permanently.

What exactly do we have to do to get the re-entry permit? Is it painless, and what do we have to bring to the GNIB to get it?

Thanks,

If they gave you a royal mail number I would assume that the documents are in the mail (via registered mail) and on the way to you.

You might want to check the Royal Mail siite with the reference number you got.

I am not sure why so many people see the Jia case as important in the context of our situation. As far as I understand the Jia Case was about the residence permit for a non-eu parent of a non-eu spouse (who was legally resident in Sweden due to being married to a german citizen). I am not a legal ex...

Hello Flor_mz,

thanks for that. Yes, as I am german I will send the EEA1 and EEA2 application together.

I read several times now that it can cut down the processing time to as little as only 7 weeks.

Cheers,

I believe the Info is slightly incorrect. You can even apply for a EEA family permit if your wife intends to look for a job in the UK. But I think you need to show some kind of prove that she has applied for jobs or where she will work. But you will get a much better answer in the UK forum, I believ...

We provided them with the filled application form, our passports, the marriage certificate, Bank Statements, a confirmation from my employer that I have been working there for more ...
