Are you sure that your visa is valid until sept. 08? So far I haven't seen an Irish Visa that was valid for more then 3 months.

The EEA1 is the residence Permit application for an EU citizen. This is not really required to have or do, and most people probably wouldn't apply for it. The EEA1 application has a processing time of roughly 6 to 8 weeks. The EEA2 application is for the Non-EU Spouse, and has a processing time of a...

Irish EU1 vs. UK EEA1 - The way it should be done...

Hello together, as some might know me and my wife were one of the affected couples of the Irish EU1 fiasco. I had been living in Ireland for more then six years, and married my non-EUwife after a five year (proven) relationship in June 2006. We had applied for residency for my wife via the EU1 form ...

You will need to take a deep breath... We appealed at the end of March 2007, and had no response at all until July 2007, when we left Ireland. I am sure if we would have stayed we would still not have had a response by now. We also sent 2 reminders, which wnet unnoticed. We also sent a letter...

just as a sidenote...you don't necessarily need the passport for the National Insurance number, but it might help. They have a way to verify it directly with the home Office. My wife applied just with our lease, a household bill, the letter from the home office and some proof that she had applied fo...

I will send you a PM with a few links from my Househunt and a few tips. I am driving to south Dublin 3 times a week (2 days Work from home), but I arranged my working hours so that I get around the traffic. I leave the House at around 5.40 to be at work at 7 and leave at 3.30 to be home before 5. Th...

And with the big difference that in the UK the NON-EU spouse is allowed to work from the day you arrive with your EU spouse, and in Ireland only after they approved your application, which takes anything between 6 and 9 months, it seems.

I would recommend to leave Ireland asap, before they get wind of the fact that you are illegal. There are no exit controls in Ireland so nobody will ever know that you overstayed in Ireland. Then I would recommend that you apply for the EEA Family Permit in Egypt, which shouldn't be much of a proble...

Why didn't you just request your husbands passport back a few weeks ago? That will not have any effect on your husbands EEA2 application.

I think it depends which Schengen Country you go to. Some countries are changing the requirements for spouses of EU citizens. I know for example that spouses of EU citizens who are legally residing in Ireland, and have the Stamp 4 Residency (Spouse of a EU citizen) do not need a visa to enter german...

We appealed end of March/beginning of April, and haven't heard a word from them so far. We even sent another registered letter a month ago to ask for an update, but haven't heard anything either. We now cancelled our pending application, as we moved to Northern Ireland. I asked them to confirm this....

I am in Newry as well. Have a look at the UK Forum, very good informations there. The following is assuming that you are a EU citizen from one of the "older" EU member states. There are slightly different rules for citizens of the "new" member states afaik: You will need a EEA Family Permit as an en...

I went that route. We moved up last month after being fed up with our situation in Ireland. I (EU citizen) am still employed in Ireland, and can work from home two days a week. That way the driving won't drive me mad. We applied for the EEA1 and EEA2 3 weeks ago, and my wife (non-EU) already has sta...

Yes, it states that you are allowed to work, confirms that your passport is with them, asks you not to disturb them while they are processing your application  and give you a hotline number that can be called by any employers if they need any verification on your status.

I guess it depends what you do for a living. My wife has a Master Degree as well, and companies were just not willing to get into anything work permit related. Even when she explained that was entitled to one, and that it would be fast-tracked and be free of charge they were unwilling to go with it....

We received the confirmation two weeks after we sent in our EEA1 and EEA2 applications. That was about a week ago.

If you applied together with your husband (via EEA1) then the process will appearently only take 6 to 8 weeks, btw.

Yes, we are just in the process of doing that. We applied last week, and she was called yesterday to come in for an interview today.

Will she get the number on the spot and only the card arrives in 4 weeks or will it take 4 weeks to get the number itself?

That means that hundred of EU nationals will have to leave the country (if they don't want their non EU spouses to be "deoprted") because their wife/husband has the wrong passport. That's disgraceful, IMO (assuming that the Info on the dete website is final and no other provisions will be made). Tha...

Probably partly due to Mr. Kumars circumstances (previous illegally staying in the UK and Belgium). AFAIK the case now goes to the supreme court, which is expected...
