Yes, you can ask for it's return without problems.

I just requested mine by Email, and it was returned in less then a week (requested back on 26th, and received today).

She will of course have her passport, but the UK RC in it will be expired by then. So there is no proof in her passport that she is still "legal" in the UK. Based on that they would usually refuse a Visa. The only proof of her being legal we will be able to provide is the COA from the UKBA. I know w...

My wife just applied for her PR (EEA4). Her Residence Permit expires shortly, and will not be valid anymore by the time we will ask fer the return of our passports. They don't check at the Airport, but don't try to get into the Republic by Bus (and possible train). These days the Irish Police (garda) is stopping busses every day between NI and Ireland just after the border to check for people without Visas. they also very regularly check the Train running betwe...

It's not this easy in Germany, as there is no full right of "free movement" for your wife in germany yet. Germany has implemented restrictions on members of the new EU states that will only be lifted in 2011. Till then she will still need a job and a work permit before you would be allowed to move t...

TBH, I find 26K very tight for a family with 1 child in Dublin, especially considering that taxes might well go up by quite a bit in January. 26K before tax would be roughly 1850 euro a month net. Add 180 or so child benefit and you have just above 2000 Euro a month. A 2BR Apartment in a semi decent...

In Germany a simple invitation letter is not enough. For Visa Invitation Purposes you need to get an official formal obligation form "Verpflichtungserklärung" from the local City Hall (Einwohnermeldeamt). Depending on the city hall you will need to bring work contract, 3 payslips, lease (to show yo...

There are a few idiots everywhere, but I wouldn't really say...

A few years back it took between 8 and 10 weeks for a tourist Visa. AFAIK the reason is that most applications are not handled by the embassies themself, but are decided on by the Visa Office in Dublin. So the embassies send the applications to Dublin and they are then centrally worked on there. aft...

He is German, and that makes the whole thing just very complicated in both countries, as it involves a lot more paperwork then for example getting married in the UK. It would involve loads of Paperwork, that would need several translations, official certification by the embassies, involvement of the...

EU cit. to marry Non-EU Fiancee in UK - EEA FP or Fiancee V.

Hi, this questions is for a friend of mine. He is a EU citizen living and working in the UK. He now wants to marry his Chinese Fiancee (currently living in china) in the UK in December 09. They then will go back to China in May/June 2010 to get the Chinese wedding done. Would he be able to apply for...

EEA2 - Change of address - Do I have to inform Home Office?

Hi,

my wife has had her EEA2 Residence Permit for 2 years now. We will now be moving for the first time since she received it.

Do we have to inform the Home Office? If so, how does it have to be done? Can I just call them or do I have to use a specific form?

Regards,
dsab

We went through Amsterdam just before XMAS. My wife (Resident of the UK) has a 3 year Schengen Visa in her passport. When handing over the passports the Immigration officer asked if we were married. When we answered that we were he asked if we resided in the UK. He had a quick look at the Residence ...

WE didn't provide any documents.

All we sent was the filled Application Form, a passport picture, our marriage certificate, a prepaid return envelope and our passports.

No further documents are required for spouses of EU citizens.

Ireland doesn't recognize my wife's UK-issued resident permit to legally enter the country. If you want to go by the book you will need a Visa. It's the same the other way around, as the UK doesn't allow entry just by waving your EU4FAM at them. They want a Visa as well. I know that we might be able...

Good Morning, I was just wondering if there is a limit for how long embassies can issue a Schengen Visa.
