I gave up on waiting a long time ago. Life is too short to wait...

BTW... if you looked into the Jia case you will see that it is a slightly different situation to ours.

I am not sure why so many people see the Jia case as important in the context of our situation. As far as I understand the Jia Case was about the residence permit for a non-eu parent of a non-eu spouse (who was legally resident in Sweden due to being married to a german citizen). I am not a legal ex...

Hello Flor_mz,

thanks for that. Yes, as I am german I will send the EEA1 and EEA2 application together.

I read several times now that it can cut down the processing time to as little as only 7 weeks.

Cheers,

I believe the Info is slightly incorrect. You can even apply for a EEA family permit if your wife intends to look for a job in the UK. But I think you need to show some kind of prove that she has applied for jobs or where she will work. But you will get a much better answer in the UK forum, I believ...

My wife flew back to her home country and applied for the EEA Family Permit at the British embassy. It was quite easy. We provided them with the filled application form, our passports, the marriage certificate, Bank Statements, a confirmation from my employer that I have been working there for more ...

We appealed the decission and also filed a complaint with th european commission. In addition to that I wrote emails to all the Justice Speakers of the different parties and regsitered letters to the old and new justice minister. None the less we decided to leave Ireland and to relocate to the UK. T...

AFAIK it currently takes 4-5 years to get Irish citizenship. A colleague of mine applied and he is curently in waiting year 3 and was recently told that he should expect to be waiting for at least another 18 months.

I think even the EU1 route will be quicker in the end. :)

I just got the following response from Solvit: **************** The Irish SOLVIT Centre understands that the Court has decided in favour of t...

My wifes (not in Brazil) was done on the spot. On their website they state that they try to process them within 24 hours. But it might take 3 to 4 days in some cases. Probably depends how busy the embassy is.

BTW... I am one of the Irish "refugees" as well.

I doubt he will be sitting in his office the day after he became Justice Minister. He will probably meet his new department heads and the other cabinet ministers first.

I guess first of all these Infos have to be confirmed by another source. And then people have to decide for themself if they wanna fight their way through the courts or if they wanna leave. If this Information is true, the there are not many more options right now. Archibgabe... I also sent a formal...

The thing is that not everyone has the will or even the money to go through the courts to fight for his rights. So we have to rely on these court cases. And in the context of the EU regulation it shouldn't really matter what the history was. It seems Kumars case was the one everyone was waiting for,...

BTW., Ireland has a new Justice Minister since today. So it might be time for each of us to fire off an email to inform him about this unacceptable situation. If enough people complain he might have a look into it. You never know. I already did that. He has his own website, and on there is his email...

I studied in germany and never had to pay a cent. AFAIK studying in germany is still free. You only have to pay if you exceed the average time it takes to finish your degree, i.e. you are in your fifth year of a degree that's usually done in 3 years. Then they charge seomting like 1000 euro per seme...

No, I don't believe that's the case we are looking for. I guess we will just have to wait and see until tomorrow. If there really is another Irish Case (and Solvit and the Immigrationcouncil seem to indicate that firmly) then the postponement of the other case makes sense. The Judge wants to wait fo...

As far as I know today is only the hearing, and not a decission yet. The Judge has 4 cases to hear today (between 11 and 5), and this case seems to be the last on the list. That means we most likely won't get an update anytime soon. Even if the decission gets our way I wouldn't expect the DOJ to iss...

I don't want to dent anyones hopes, but remember that you need a formal job offer, and that the employer needs to support the Work Permit application. Unfortunately a lot of companies are not prepared at all to go through this. Very often as soon as companies hear the word work permit they are not i...

Another 4 days wait is not too bad. Does the High Court have some kind of Summer recess?

Next tuesday might just be the last date for me and my wife, as we intend to go househunting in the UK next friday.
