Surprisingly I talked to one of their people today. Had to dial about 30 times, but finally got through. I got a call from one of their people on Friday regarding my wifes application, and just wanted to follow up on that call. Unfortunately he was not available, but the lady on the phone checked on...

Good Question. My wifes application is overdue since the end of january (Justice Department received it at the end of July). We were told about a Lawsuit against the Justice Department regarding the EU1 application. I asked Solvit to investigate, and they confirmed that there seems to be a legal cas...

Hello Robby,

were you/or your wife (whoever applied for the Residence permit) lawfully resident in another EU memberstate before you/she came to Ireland?

Cheers,

Hello, today I got a response from SOLVIT, and there really seems to be a court case: I have contacted the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform in relation to your problem with the application for your spouse, Ms. XXX and her Irish residency application under Directive 2004/38/EC. I am in ...

Thanks for letting us know, robby. So hopefully they just told me a lie (probably only time to be happy to be lied to).

We are now just about 6 months and 3 weeks, and if they are in fact working on it in chronological order, then we should be due a letter any day now.

EU Treaty Rights Section taken to court - all EU1 on hold !?

Hi, I just called the EU Treaty right Section to follow up on my wifes EU1 application (over 6 months already), and the woman on the phone dropped a bombshell. She said the EU Treaty Rights Section has been taken to court regarding the EU1 process, and until the Court Case has been settled they won'...

We had the same issue. According to Immigration It is not possible to get a tourist visa extended in Ireland while you are waiting for the EU1 application to be processed. You also cannot get a Re-Entry Permit issued. According to them the ONLY way is for her to leave the country and to get back is ...

EU1 Application not proceesed within 6 months... what now?

Hello, my wifes EU1 application is now slighlty over 6 months old. Today she called Immigration, and they told her that they are not able to process them within the legal 6 months frame anymore. According to them she will have to wait for another 1 - 2 months. Anybody have an idea what we could do n...

As far as I know Irish Immigration won't know that you overstayed as long as you didn't get into any trouble (police etc.).

When you leave Ireland Immigration doesn't put a exit stamp into your passport, and they don't track who exited when the country.

Hello Zaid, as my wife is covered via my companys health scheme we provided a letter from my employer that she is covered via VHI. I think the proof of health insurance was mentioned as a requirement on one of the documents. We tried to apply for a PPS number, but didn't manage to get one. But it se...

Hello Zaid, the EU1 process def. takes up to 6 months. It appears that most people got their response after about 5 month. My wife applied at the end of July, and we still haven't received a response. So better prepare yourself for the full 6 months, and def. apply as soon as possible. Cheers, Daniel

So, if I read previous threads and responses correcly, then some people who applied in the middle of June should be due their response by now. Did anyone else hear anything lately?

I was hoping they would go for a big push before they go on their XMAS/NY break.

cheers,

As you don't need a visa for Ireland, and can go almost everywhere without a visa as well you won't need to formally apply for an Irish Visa. When you arrive in Ireland you apply at the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform for the Residence Permit (Green Card) via the EU1 form. The applica...

Great to hear that finally someone got a response. You seem to be the first one on here.

I hope it was a positive one. :D

That means by my calculation my wife should be due somewhere around XMAS/New Year. Could be a nice XMAS pressie for her.

We tried applying for a PPS number for my wife today. We are in the same boat, as my wife is awaiting the approval of the EU1 application. But they said that they can't issue a PPS number until we have the residence permit approved. We even had our marriage certificate and the 69 number with us. The...

We called them via 1890-551 500 and then press 3 and next option choose 3 again. They only answer the phone MO/WE/FR from 10-12.30 and 14.00-16.00, I think. In our case it is especially depressing as my wife just got offered a (rare) job in her line of work, but the company won't be able to hold the...

I am german and my wife is thai. We tried to apply for the D-Spouse Visa. According to the Thai Consulate in Bangkok we couldn't apply for the D-Spouse visa, as we were not legally married at the time we applied for the visa. They told us we could only apply for a tourist visa. So that's what we did.
