We applied with the German Embassy in London.

Very quick service, and all was done via mail. Took less then a week from sending off our application to receiving our passports back.

Ireland doesn't recognize my wife's UK-issued resident permit to legally enter the country. If you want to go by the book you will need a Visa. It's the same the other way around, as the UK doesn't allow entry just by waving your EU4FAM at them. They want a Visa as well. I know that we might be able...

Good Morning, does anybody know what the longest time is the Irish will Issue a (tourist-Visa) for? So far we only have ever received 3 months. Maximum Length for Schengen Visa?

Good Morning, I was just wondering if there is a limit for how long embassies can issue a Schengen Visa. My wife (residing in UK as a spouse of German citizen) just applied for a new Schengen Visa with the German Embassy (big thumps up to the Embassy, as all was done very quick and easy by mail), an...

Does turned down L1 Appl. have effect on my VWP status?

Hi, I have been to the US a few time some years ago without any problems. As I am a EU citizen I can go without a Visa under the VWP. But I am aware that you have to apply for a visa if you have been refused entry to the US previously. Now I am not sure of my status reagarding this: 3 years back my ...

The Netherlands is one of the countries that follows the directive. If you are married to a EU citizen and have a residence Permit from the UK (and probably anoy other EU country) you don't need a visa to enter the netherland. All you need is your passports, and a copy of your marriage certificate (...

Sorry, but why not just send it in very quickly? If they ask for further Info they will probably already have decided on your application and need to verify something before sending out the residence documents and your docs. They asked us for some additional Info. I sent it to them the same day, and...

Between Ireland and the UK "enforcing" this law is no problem - just travel, as there are no border-checkpoints. If you travel to anywhere else in Europe, it's better to have a copy of the law with you, as some border-guards are unaware of these laws. However, in the end and after some (polite) arg...

She will need an Irish Visa, which will take about 3 weeks to be processed by the Irish Embassy in the UK. I am living in Northern Ireland (around 3 km from the border to the Republic of Ireland) and even my legally residing non EEA wife needs a visa to go to the republic. Bit of a joke, IMO. Furthe...

Check if you have a BUPA office in your country. They usually offer Travel Insurance that complies to Schengen requirements.

You might get a better response if you stated where you are based.

Child Benefit (Kindergeld) is currently 154 Euro a month per kid. There are no deductions, no income limits, no taxation for it. But it might take a while to get through, especially if you just moved there. But you will be able to claim it backwards to the day you took up residency in Germany. There...

You don't need to apply for EEA1, if you don't want to. That will have no effect on your wifes EEA2 application.

But it seems that the EEA2 applications are dealt with quicker if you send in the EEA and EEA2 applications together (my own experience).

Fortunately less then 2 months in our case. Applied beginning of July and had it at the end of August. Probably because we sent EU1 and EU2 together.

So I guess, we can count ourself lucky.

Being German myself, I am not sure why that is such a problem. Slight inconvenience...yes, but not really a problem. I much prefer having a valid Schengen Visa in my wifes passport then having to argue with the Airline Staff every time to let us board a plane to any of the Schengen States. (and that...
