Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

Anybody knows, what does it mean? it looks like same normal reply. and My Application is still not with the Minister it looks like. How do they determine that the Applicant is good character or not? Thanks. It doesn't mean anything. We are waiting since January 2018 and we stopped following up with...

Re: Citizenship - Spouse of Irish

I got my own Irish citizenship in 2017 but my wife is waiting for over 2 years now. I don't think the child benefits question is affecting her application though. :)

Re: Citizenship - Spouse of Irish

Yes, I thought the same and that's why I clarified with a lawyer who told me to include it. He said it's better to disclose it. Some other people on this forum may have a different view on this but I followed the advice of the lawyer to be on the safe side.

Re: Citizenship - Spouse of Irish

Hi - You will need to disclose the child benefit payments in this question any way. I had asked a lawyer about this question and was told that child benefit payments need to be included in the application under this question. I think you should also include a cover letter explaining the other matter...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Applied in September 2017, received 2nd stage letter in August 2018 and nothing since then. Whenever I contact they reply "continue to be processed", I am going for judicial review if I don't hear anything in February 2020. Hi - Did you send any inquiry or letters through TD or lawyer requesting st...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Few years back people got approvals through TDs letter but now they dont consider TD representation and the same way goes to solicitor. If u threat them for Judicial review then citizenship will threat u back with cost of the case. They did same with two my friends. They wont take u serious unless ...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

Based on the stats that the minister gave on 10 October 2019, there were 19,172 applications pending: https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/question/2019-10-10/141/ They gave citizenship to 2,000 people in December and assuming they give it to 6,000 more people in the 2 ceremonies in March (even that...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

Do you guys think there will be more approvals coming for the March ceremony? I see from posts here that they seem to have sent 4 batches of approvals on 7, 14, 21 and 24 January so, with the elections looming, I am not sure if there will be another round of approvals. We are waiting approximately 2...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

The Minister has responded to a series of questions in the Oireachtas about this topic. As of 3rd September there were 15,647 applications for citizenship on hand. The majority of such applicants are potentially affected by the ruling. Other than the number of applications pending, the minister's r...

Re: September Citizenship Ceremony 2019

Guys, I spoke with my lawyer, he told me that there will be no approval until they figure out what to do with this new law. I am on second stage from June as many of you here. This entire system is a bloody joke. In every other EU country if you apply for citizenship it takes maximum 6 months to ma...

Re: Response from INIS to emails

Has anyone heard anything from INIS recently? I seem to have sent them a couple of email and it has been months and I don't seem to have received a response. Wondering what's going on? Are they ignoring all emails? If so, they should at least dedicate more time on sending approvals. Looks like the ...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

I haven't heard of any new approvals recently or seen any posts on this forum for approvals as well. We've emailed them 2 times since July and gotten no reply. They rarely answer the phone so we have not been lucky there as well. In summary, we have no update! It would be interesting to see what hap...

Re: Non-EU vs EU Queue at the Airport

Weirdly, I always used the non-EU queue with my wife and daughter (daughter is natural-born Irish citizen) and last time the officer somewhat brusquely said "families with an Irish member use the EU queue) Same thing happened with me in January. My whole family has Irish passports other than my wif...

We got through on call today after trying on and off for last month.

The response was standard: "Application is in process and you will hear from us if there is any update."

17 months of waiting and still no update. I guess the wait will keep continuing!

Hi

I tried getting through all morning today and after over 300 attempts I eventually got through to a lovely lady at around 12.20 just before they closed the lines.

I must admit I nearly gave up trying!
Did you get any useful information from the call?

Re: No responses to emails and closed phone lines

NO success today. Try calling from 10AM to 12:30PM Is anyone call today Tried calling today. Nobody picking up the phone and no response to emails sent 2 weeks ago. Basically, there is no way to know the status of the application and no way to assess when this long process will come to an end!
