Re: Applied for Citizenship, meanwhile Passport need to renew

I would suggest to send them the copy of your passport in the post along with the email. I have sent them copies of updated documents on email before and they don't acknowledge the email. They usually acknowledge receipt of documents through post or you can also check the anpost receipt to confirm y...

Re: No responses to emails and closed phone lines

It's really frustrating specially for the person who is waiting on his passport for 10 weeks and can't travel because he has no idea when his passport will be returned. Citizenship division really need to improve their communications and need to be more transparent about the whole naturalization pro...

No responses to emails and closed phone lines

Hi All - My wife and 3 other friends who are waiting on their naturalization applications (all waiting more than 16 months now) have emailed the citizenship department a couple of times each in the last 3-4 weeks for an update and haven't been receiving any responses. Meanwhile, the citizenship phon...

Re: First Ceremony of 2019

We got through on the phone after a few tries and were told 'Unfortunately there is no update on this application'. Didn't have the heart to ask any questions after hearing that so just hung up the phone. Why there is no update even after 15 months on a straightforward application is beyond me. Con...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

@Anira - Congrats on your approval! Great news! We've been trying to call them since last week and the phone is either busy or keeps ringing out and nobody picks up. We called more than a 100 times yesterday and no response. We also emailed them last week and didn't get a response to that as well. ...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

They told me my case is with supervisor for the final checks, after which submission to the minister. No idea how long the checks take nor ministers decision. She couldn’t confirm April ceremony for me. Do you think it’s positive? Im waiting 25 months now I had never heard of that type of update be...

Great! That takes some of the suspense away so people can at least hope to be invited to one of the 3 ceremonies.

Re: Can’t afford Naturalisation fee?

One of my colleagues sent his €950 fees after the 10 day window and was still included in the ceremony for which he had gotten approval. This was in 2016 though (a different time with less applicants and no Brexit!). I guess it all depends on whether the April ceremony will be full or not by the tim...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Just got through, she said they were looking at my application at this moment and I should get a letter soon. I asked if ceremony is fully booked and she said no, it is not. Thanks for the update. We are just over 8 weeks away from the expected ceremony date of 29 April. So based on previous trends...

Re: First Ceremony of 2019

I haven't been on this forum since I got my passport last year but my wife applied for her citizenship 14 months ago (immediately after I got mine) and we haven't received any update since her 2nd stage letter which was received in July last year. Just to mention she applied on 6+ years residency ba...

@amiamorgan - I guess you are quite lucky that your application is moving. They seem to have a big rush on passports again due to Christmas. Best of luck and hope you get your passport on time.

Re: First time Irish passport after Naturalisation

@lana1234 - I am the same as you. The application status hasn't moved since I applied on 28 Nov. I got a stamp 6 from GNIB office last week and will be travelling based on that. I contacted passport office and was again told it is unlikely that I will get my passport before Christmas and in fact it ...

@lana1234: I had to cancel my tickets because I couldn't get a straight answer out of the passport department. I've tried email, phone, chat, everything and will keep checking. They don't want to commit a date of delivery and on the system the passport is stuck at same status for over a week. They d...
