Re: Should I have sent my Tier 2 BRP

My Tier 2 BPR was valid beyond 6 months so they returned without any problem. At the moment my Tier 2 is still valid and I also have my EEA RC. Wow, amazing! That goes against advice I got from a solicitor at a major immigration firm. Go figure... I know! I'd read some experiences from other member...

Re: Residence Card: Extended Family Application for girlfriend

Hi there, Will she need a new biometric card? Yes. Tier5 is a visa granted under UK immigration rules whereas EEA2 RC is under European ones. If we don’t have a reply by July 7th will she need to leave the country? When she applies she will receive a certificate of application (CoA). She can use tha...

Re: Residence Card: Extended Family Application for girlfriend

Hi there, How long have you been living together? You need to provide evidence that you have been in a relationship akin to marriage for two years (tenancy agreements, joint bank accounts, joint utility bills). As an Irish citizen can I sponsor her? Yes, you can as long as you can prove you are exer...

Re: Should I have sent my Tier 2 BRP

Will they send the BRP back? I was under the impression that they would retain the BRP as it would no longer be valid after successful application for a residence card. Just sent my tier 2 BRP in with my EEA-FM, will see what documents I get back. That may be true if you BPR expires during the appl...

Re: Should I have sent my Tier 2 BRP

Hi there,

Yes, you have done the right thing. You need to show you are legally in the UK, so that was the way to go. When I requested my documents back I specified that I wanted my passport and my BPR so they sent both back.

I hope this helps,

Re: Non-EEA (Tier 2) with EEA partner: should I switch?

I currently hold two BRPs (EEA EFM and Tier2). I have entered the country using both and had not been told anything by immigration officers. My Tier2 is expiring in May 2018 so I will find out what my employer says if my contract gets extended... so I can't tell you yet. "Does this mean that my T2 5...

Re: Tier 5 to EEA RC as Unmarried Partner - Various Questions

We are submitting letters from two landlords over the past 22 months actually. The earlier landlord was a real estate management company (letting agent) in Canada, and it clearly states that we were cohabitating. I acknowledge that we did not live together for 22 months, but... Oops, I meant to say...

Re: Getting married and Tier 4 expiring

Hi there, Once you give notice of marriage, it usually takes 28 days to get a response. However, because you are non-EU, this period can be extended to 70 days (the OH should contact you in case the period is extended from 28 to 70 days). If you have a valid visa it should be quite straightforward b...

A massive thumbs up to your response, lunallena. This is reassuring -- I assume this advice is based on successful personal experience. It is indeed. I submitted my application last February and received my RC as unmarried partner 6 months later. This is what I provided -Proof of identity of my par...

Re: Tier 5 to EEA RC as Unmarried Partner - Various Questions

Hello, 1. I would not provide bank statements for every single month... maybe one every three months should be fine. In my case, bank statements from our joint account arrive every three months so that is what we submitted. 2. We also did not have a proper tenancy agreement from the last place we ar...

Re: Tier 4 to EEA EFM un-married partner residence help!

Okay so, that will depend on what the state of the certificate of applicaiton I receive? And if it states I cannot work, I can still stay in the UK (and in this case, without my passport I cannot actually leave anyways)? Direct family members (FM) receive the right to work, whereas extended family ...

Re: Tier 4 to EEA EFM un-married partner residence help!

When I applied for a RC as the unmarried partner of an EEA citizen I had a Tier2 BPR. 1. The guidelines are quite clear on this point, saying that you need to be in a relationship akin to marriage, which involves living together for 2 years. Some people may be able to obtain the RC with less than 2 ...

It looks like a positive outcome but you need to see what your decision letter says. Getting a CoA with the right to work does not correlate with the outcome of the decision. You have already waited a few months, be patient :D

Re: Include self-addressed envelope?

When I applied for my EEA FM RC I sent a prepaid envelope in the application to get my passport returned (i detailed the request in the cover letter) and still they ignored this and sent the documents via normal mail. But you don't lose anything by trying.

Good luck!

Re: Tier 2 -> EEA Switch for contracting

As far as I know, there is no premium or priority service for RC under EEA regulations. I think the HO has improved its processing times, with some people getting the RC in three months.

Does that mean you are getting a residence card as a family member of an EEA citizen? I have at the moment both RC and Tier 2 visa. I will be working under my Tier2 visa until my contract finishes and then stay in the UK with my RC and get another job. When you receive you RC you don't have to give ...

Hi there, I applied for a EEA2 (EFM) RC having a Tier 2 BPR. Did you send your BPR with your application? You will still need to enrol biometrics for the EEA FM. When does your Tier5 expire? Although most of the people have the confirmation letter/email and CoA sent within four weeks after submissio...
