Extra docs requested for citizenship app??

Help please! In the process of applying for British citizenship for my daughter. She's South African, born in SA, to a SA father. I'm her mom and am British by descent. She has lived in the UK with me for 18 years now and has had ILR for pretty much that same time (she is now 20). Her SA passport ex...

Re: A question for South Africans

If she has not applied for retention of SA citizenship, she will lose it automatically on the date she attends her citizenship ceremony and she will become a NON SA citizen. I did the same and my letter from the consular home affairs that clearly states I voluntarily obtained another citizenship an...

A question for South Africans

Hi, hoping someone can clear this up for me. We're currently in the process of applying for British citizenship for my South African daughter. She's 20 now but has lived in the UK since she was three. I'm only British by decent so couldn't pass that on to her, hence the application. My question is a...

Re: Changing address mid BRP application

Thanks everyone. Panic over, I "think".

I've found some old paperwork with what I think is her most recent passport number on it so we will try the change of circumstance form with that and see what happens. :)

Re: Changing address mid BRP application

Okay, thank you!

That does make it near impossible for us to do the change of circumstances form though!

Her passport is with them already, as part of her BRP application . . .

Can't supply a BRP number as that is what is in progress . . .

This is ridiculous.

Re: Changing address mid BRP application

Hi guys,

Still trying to find out what an ARC number is, in relation to the BRP mid application change of circumstances form linked above?

Any help appreciated!

Re: Changing address mid BRP application

Great thank you for that! A couple of further questions: 1. She only moved this weekend so obviously doesn't have any documents showing her new address. I'm assuming we'll have to wait until she does before doing the change of address form? 2. This part of the form: You’ll need the following informa...

Thank you, the low post count explains it. :)

The email I registered with on these forums some time ago no longer exists but that probably isn't the end of the world.

South African flag please! :D

User control panel questions

Hi there, I just had a couple of questions about the user control panel and wasn't sure where else to put it. 1. Changing email address. I can get into the section that shows my current email address but it won't let me change it? 2. Country flags. Just wondering how to add this to my profile? 2. Av...

Changing address mid BRP application

Hi there, My daughter (South African) has had ILR since she was 3 years old (currently 19) as I'm British and she was able to work fine up until a few months ago by just showing her ILR letter but now that employers are only accepting the BRP card so she recently applied for this (early June). Howev...

Re: Council no longer to do NDRS+JCAP service?

We're about to start an application for my daughter and when I had a look at her local council webiste, they have this message: We no longer offer JCAP (Passport and Citizenship) appointments (although we will be honouring JCAP appointments already booked until 6 April) We are not offering the new ‘...

Re: ILR awaiting BRP - question.

Just an update to this . . . my daughter had actually started a new job last week. She'd been upfront about the fact that her biometric card was in process and showed them copies of her passport, ILR letter/stamp etc. They were fine and told her that she just need to bring the card to them as soon a...

Re: ILR awaiting BRP - question.

Yep, I'm well aware I stuffed up on this. I did know there was a large difference in cost between under 18 and over but I DIDN'T realise that she would need the Life in UK test and English language test despite having lived here for 18 years. I see no point in crying about "should have's" and...

Re: ILR awaiting BRP - question.

We honestly didn't think there would be any issues as she had the ILR. :(

She will be applying for citizenship in the next few months though (I believe she would have needed the biometics for that anyway?), once she has completed the Life in the UK and English Language tests.

ILR awaiting BRP - question.

I really need some advice/info please. Bit of background, not sure if it helps. I'm South African born but have British citizenship (by decent via my dad) but my daughter has South African citizenship. We moved to the UK when she was 2 years old (18 years ago!) and she was granted ILR (with letter a...
