I agree that it is harder for those without a solid work history, and reading your other post I see you are freelance, which can make things harder. Even if you don't want me to help, please make sure that you use a firm in the UK who are so...

It is unlikely that she will have a problem getting ILR, as new laws will almost certainly not have been implemented by then.

Your wife can look for work, and if she has job offers that will help the applictaion.

Whether or not this would be enough depends on how much this freelance work will pay, whether you have savings etc.

VFS are morons, to be ignored. They are not immigration advisors, and most of them no nothing about immigration law. What they do know is how to scare people, and how to lord it over people they don't want to help (ie everyone).

You have been responded to.

As we are not psychic, and we do not have hotlines to the Home Office, we cannot say whether the application will succeed or not.

And 'please' is a nice word. You could try it sometimes.

There is no strict rule about 6 in 12 months, but if immigration think that you are using visit visas to settle here then they will refuse you entry.

Obviously she won't actually be granted ILE because she hasn't passed the test, but she can do this as soon as she arrives and will not have to wait the two years.

You can count time on the WHM towards ILR under the 10 year long residence category. You can't add it to the ancestry for a 5 year application.
