Re: Working temporarily before applying for tier 2 visa

Hello, I am intending on switching from tier 4 to tier 2 this September but I might not be able to submit an application before the start date. I was wondering if from an immigration point of view, I can join the company whilst on a valid tier 4 visa? The main problem I'm seeing is that it says a t...

Re: Tier 2 (General) COS Start Date vs Actual Start Date

Hi all, I am in the process of making my visa application for my Tier 2 General Visa (up to 3 years) and need advice on what to do. On my assigned COS it says: START DATE - 1st Sept 2019 END DATE - 1st Sept 2022 Due to me being out of my home country, I can't apply until the 9th of September 2019 a...

Re: full time student on tier 2

Hello, I am on a tier 2 visa as a researcher and I have the opportunity to do a full-time PhD. The PhD topic is expected to be similar or relevant to my current research. This being said, my employer does not mind that I do the PhD full-time. My concern here would be wether taking a full-time cours...

Re: Tier - 4 to Tier - 2, Probation Period

What I understand is, even if my degree is not awarded, I can still join a full-time permanent job if Tier-2 is applied for, because my employer will mention this as a 3 year "contract" in the CoS. So, before Tier-2 is approved, I can work on Tier-4, because government sees the offer as "contract"....

Re: Foreign income (freelance) on Tier 2 visa

I believe if you do not use your income in the UK (as in not transfer your income to the UK for any use) and keep it in your home country, it should be OK. My rationale is you do not need to pay tax on the income you earn abroad if you do not use or transfer any of this income to the UK and keep it ...

Re: Switching Tier 4 to Tier 2 Visa - Bachleor's degree

I think it depends if your leave is "continuous" or not. i.e. if there was a gap between your bachelors and mba. No it has changed now, only PhD needs to be continuous; read the current guidance I'm in a similar situation, I've done a bachelors and masters in the UK but left the UK so now I need to...
