Best to scan and upload yourself too. UKVCAS will also scan and upload 3 versions of it (UV, B&W, Color) but they are known to make mistakes. Doesn’t hurt to have two copies uploaded.

Re: British passport application on hold due to different surnames

You can surrender (effectively cancel) your Indian passport using your Naturalisation Certificate. VFS will require you to write a brief letter explaining why you are not presenting a passport, just write that you haven’t applied for it yet.

Re: ILR refused due to missing English and Life in UK certs

This clearly seems like an error on part of HO. Don’t pay the surcharge and accept the 30 month visa as that will put you on ILR LR route. The mods will be in best position to guide you on how you can file for an AR to get this reversed. You might want to share the expiry of your original visa as we...

Re: Why British citizenship application need to be certified by two referees ?

I am sure the legislation and rules have been created after due consideration and thought process.

What you think is pointless might not be to the Home Office who routinely end up dealing with fraud and deception.

Still, feel free to petition your MP if you feel strongly about it.

Re: British Citizenship "When did you first arrive in the UK?"

Don’t think being a student meets the criteria and could possibly be seen negatively. I personally wouldn’t risk it but will let the mods answer from a position of more experience. What nonsense!! Why would being legally in the UK as a student be viewed negatively or not meet the requirements for c...

Re: Apply for children along with main applicant or dependant?

Apologies for circling back with more questions. My son first came to the UK on 1st October 2014, which means he likely won't complete whole five years at the intended time of application. Does the rule of being present in UK on the date of application also apply to him? or can I proceed with the ap...

Apply for children along with main applicant or dependant?

Hi, I have read a few posts by CR001 that have led to some confusion. I am hoping I have interpreted the posts correctly, if not, please let me know. Background I have two PBS dependants (my wife and son) eligible for ILR. I am about to apply for their ILR under the super priority service any time n...

Just a confirmation that the information was indeed correct.

Appreciate all the help! Thank you so much!

Re: Non-UK Grandparents documents requirements

Forgot to mention one thing. HMPO did send a physical letter and email to referee’s work address asking him to confirm the identity of my newborn on the company’s letterhead.

Thought that was odd but a cursory search online showed that this was done as part of spot checks.

Hope that helps!
