Spouse Visa Extension Timeline

Hi All, Just a quick question. Wife attended visa office in London on 9th July for 2.5 yrs visa extension. If anyone has recently had their visa renewed, how long did it take for the passport to be returned? Just wondering if there are delays or disruptions (Covid backlog, Ukraine etc etc) to the se...

@Ticktak. I hope my point was made by Sailkot, who admirably demonstrated why his friend should not be in the country?

Re: Illegal marrying

Yes, I pay all my taxes. Two wrongs do not make a right, and when people get caught, they should be punished appropriately. I'm not sure how your illegal friend can travel in and out of the country to Pakistan without being caught? And I am not sure why you think it is fine to earn money and not pay...

Re: Illegal marrying

The post is completely correct. There are rules we all should have applied equally, and random people should not be given special treatment, it is unfair on others who are doing things right. Illegal immigrants make it harder for people attempting to immigrate legally, how do you justify his actions...

Re: Illegal marrying

There are hundreds of people on this board trying to get spouse visas legally, people who had to prove beyond a shadow of doubt their relationship was real and not just of convenience. The spouse visa must be applied for while the partner is in his/ her country or AN other acceptable one. The HO (I ...

Re: Discrimination at the Border.

It does not happen just to you because you are Nigerian, I am white British and it happens to me too. I got stopped entering Mexico, and then subsequently upon returning home, again at Heathrow. Years ago, I got stopped going to Sweden. So don't think you're special. Also, consider this. The UK, as ...

Spouse Visa Extension Need Clarification Please

Hi, My OH says that she has been told it is necessary to send in copies of all of the pages of her passport (along with all the other docs such as bills etc) when she submits her application documentation for her spouse visa extension. Her passport is mostly empty, and I can't see that the ECO would...

Re: Wife unfaithful whilst application in progress

As said, you have nothing to be ashamed about, divorce happens and life goes on. One day, you will meet someone new and you'll love her more, mark my words. You'll need to get a divorce, so that might mean you have to interact with her for a while, so keep things friendly, regardless of how you feel...

Re: Wife unfaithful whilst application in progress

Firstly, so sorry to hear your relationship troubles, it must be a hard time for you. You must inform the HO, if she was granted entry to the UK under false pretences, then you would be complicit in this crime. I'm afraid right now, her visa should be rejected because it is not genuine, you have no...

Re: Visa fraud/deception

She will almost certainly be for the high jump, which could include jail time for what sounds like serious tax fraud, but at best a pretty hefty fine and demand to repay avoided tax. If I was her, I'd be on the next plane out of the UK.

How much in savings does she have?

Otherwise, she must be earning over £18.6K and provide 6 continuous months payslips.

Re: Spouse visa / Health surcharge

Wrong, they are not paying twice for anything. You seem to think that the NHS runs on thin air, the UK has previously been subject to a lot of healthcare tourists, and that has to stop. Why should UK tax payers prop up the costs of immigrants health care needs? Oh, and BTW, my wife has to pay NHS su...

Re: Spouse visa / Health surcharge

If I was to fall over in the US and break my collar bone, how much would it cost me as a UK citizen to have it treated? I shudder to think. If you fall over now and break your collar bone, why do you think that the few hundred £ you paid in tax so far will come anywhere near to covering the cost of ...

They state that they are looking at your case, and so why are you still concerned. These things take time, as they explained. I'd worry about it if you get a refusal.

Re: Immigration from Japan

If she comes over on a fiancé visa and you get married as soon as you can, then she can start to work, because she will be on a spouse visa. Will mean she has to take a bit of holiday while you get your marriage license sorted. She has to be here 8 days before you can apply. However, if her work is ...

Re: Getting a mortgage

My wife and I got a joint mortgage, just a lot more checks to go through about her right to be in the UK, that's all. We got exactly the same interest rate from the bank as any other couple. She is on a spouse visa. Not sure what would have happened if she wanted a mortgage in her own right only tho...

Re: Spouse visa from abroad interview

It maybe taking time, but it is a complicated case, so maybe they are scrutinising it more. Doesn't mean you will get refusal. If the worst happens, have you got a backup plan? Something you can immediately do? Have you looked into the PAP process, so you know where to start etc, saves time research...

Re: Schengen Visa Application From UK

I don't know why they would restrict it. The form needed to obtain a visa asks what is first point of entry, and then asks about other countries to be visited and for how long. There is no question about how long I want the visa to last for, or anything that would suggest that they need to give the ...

Re: Schengen Visa Application From UK

Finally I managed to speak to someone at BLS, and was told that a multi entry visa would require we go back to Spain, we could not use the same visa at a later stage to go to Germany. However, thought about going to Gibraltar instead. This is what the official border entry site says. Viet Nam You wi...
