Thanks all, I think she came in to the country initially on a WP, later due to some problems that company had to close down and she had to return back to her country of origin, she i think was sent a P45 from her first company. She used the same WP Visa to get back into the country and then her new ...

Thanks,

One need not worry about the status before the WP, and once she completes her 5 year stay on WP she can apply for ILR provided she fulfils that 5 year continues stay criteria.

Is my understanding correct.

Cheers

Hi, Question for a friend of mine, If one has come into the country illegally and later obtained a WP/HSMP and stayed on legally and on completing 5 years and then applies for ILR will the Home Office verify her previous records? Or will they consider the period of stay only from the WP/HSMP start d...

Tourist visa times 'to be halved'

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7146527.stm

I guess this is going to have an impact on many of us belong to non EU countries, who bring in our parents to stay with us as visitors for 6 months of the year :(

I misunderstood your earlier message, thought that both of us are to switch to individual HSMP visas, In which case wife would not have been on a dependant visa. So what you are suggesting is that I wait and switch to HSMP after 6 months and wife and kid continue to be on a dependant visa and then w...

Hi ismangil and Admin, Thanks a lot for the kind advice it makes a lot of sense. If we both take past 12 months experience in the UK, then both of us qualify for HSMP, I think if you have worked in the UK for the past one year then you qualify for 5 additional points. (wihtout these 5 points we both...

Hi John / olisun / and other senior members,

Can we conclude that the clock starts from the date the FLR was stamped on the passport even in the case of an in-country WP?

Any other members who have had an in-country WP and a successful ILR later, can you please share your experience.

Thanks

Thanks ...
