I am also curious about this and wonder if there is any data on the number of applications each year including how many were approved or rejected.
I think this is the most recent data on refused applications:

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

My interpretation of these terms:
"at an advanced stage of processing" - means anything after the second stage letter has been sent
"being prepared for submission to the Minister" - means anything after the application has been acknowledged

Re: September Citizenship Ceremony 2019

... It seems like no one has heard anything about approvals lately, or none of those people are in this forum, which is kinda unlikely. If the department is going ahead with the sept'19 ceremony, many of us should have approval letters by this week and early next week but there are no signs of any ...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

4) been in contact with a TD about their case? Here is an update that I just got from my TD: Following on from the ruling by the high court we made a number of representations to the Minister who has assured us that this ruling is not affecting applications currently in the system.   As you said th...

Re: Travelling after court ruling. Is anyone doing it?

Is anyone planning on travelling in the next few months or has travelled abroad since the court ruling and is also in the middle of their application? Yes I've travelled and yes I'm planning to travel again soon. I'm a second stage. I am expecting that the Minister will follow through on his (and h...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

Out of curiosity, has anyone out there with a pending citizenship application that would be (negatively) impacted by this court ruling: 1) received an invitation for the September ceremony? No, haven't seen any, but would not expect to yet. For the last 3 ceremonies, the run of approvals starts 5 o...

Not really. As there are only two users (yourself and Captainf) who I know are from Afghanistan it's not very meaningful data.

My application's status hasn't changed for one year now even after multiple email inquiries to the board. I'm assuming you're applying for citizenship of Ireland. Not sure what you mean by the "board"? 1.How do I pay this fee and what is the cost? In most cases there is no fee for personal records....

Hi Alaxa, you are posting the same messages all over this forum, perhaps stick to this one so we can follow what your issue is. sound to me like they could not solve the problem of the process so the judge decided to a whole new rule to stop the flow of the applicants and reduce the pressure on the office.
That's a pretty wild theory, I hope you don't really believe it.

Agree with everyone saying keep cool, this will be challenged by the Minister. Seems that the judge has got confused between "continuous residence" and "continuous presence". The legislation should be changed for clarity - at very least giving the Minister power to set limits. I've seen other immigr...

According to INIS, in May 2019 there were 763 applications still waiting from 2016 (out of 13,000). Do you have the link? And if you go back to December 2018, there were 768 waiting from 2016. So a reduction of 5 in ~5 months... at this rate it will take 60 years to clear! https://www.oireachtas.ie...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

There are hundreds of TDs. Try another one. You're more likely to get a response from a TD who is not a Minister, and preferably an opposition TD as they have more time and motivation. I would also recommend using the Immigrant Council to help you with the request. Their services are free and they a...
