Re: September Citizenship Ceremony 2019

Given it's clear that there will not be a September Ceremony, and that we have another thread relating to the high court ruling, can I suggest that this thread is closed?

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

Several TDs are now asking questions about the timing. It will be interesting to see the responses. RC To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality when the Irish nationality and citizenship (amendment) bill will pass both Houses of the Oireachtas in view of the practical difficulties that arise for...

Re: September Citizenship Ceremony 2019

It sounds like the matter is going to be discussed this week. if they pass bill this week hopefully we will get ceremony by end of Oct or first week of Nov. I'm not sure where you get the idea that it is going to be passed this week. It's not. There are 27 Bills currently on the Dáil and Seanad Ord...

Re: Irish Citizenship application (Form 8) - How did you organise your application?

In the past, they have managed to close around 60,000 applications awaiting a decision, from what I have heard. They can close these 16,000 apps easily, but, only if they want to. When did they do that? If you look at the chart (based on data from INIS), the most decisions they've made in a year (i...

Re: Counting number of days away from Ireland for naturalization.

Only a complete calendar day (i.e. 12am-12am following) should be counted. In your example, you were in Ireland on Friday and Sunday, so only Saturday is counted.

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

The Minister has responded to a series of questions in the Oireachtas about this topic.
As of 3rd September there were 15,647 applications for citizenship on hand. The majority of such applicants are potentially affected by the ruling.

Yes, this thread is about the ceremony. But it would be useful for other members to know how long your application took.

Feeling bold, I thought I'd just try to call the Minister (or rather, his office) to ask the same questions. Of course, one number goes to voice mail ("mailbox is full") and the other doesn't get answered and disconnects... If anyone else feels inspired to make some calls here are the details...

I heard something similar from INIS today when I called them. Based on timing for previous ceremonies we should have seen a few approvals posted on here alre...

Re: Stage 2?

The process might be slightly different for Irish Associations so there may not be the exact same stages. But littlerr is right... second stage letters clearly say "second stage". Out of interest, what is your timeline? When did you apply, and on what basis? Did you think you had sufficient residency?

I am also curious about this and wonder if there is any data on the number of applications each year including how many were approved or rejected.
I think this is the most recent data on refused applications:

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

My interpretation of these terms:
"at an advanced stage of processing" - means anything after the second stage letter has been sent
"being prepared for submission to the Minister" - means anything after the application has been acknowledged
